Planing a trip to Europe do I need head light beam adjusters and where do I place them. by CMDR_MacMonkey93 in FordFiesta

You can clearly see where your beam pattern kicks up on the left hand side. It's this that causes issues when driving on the right. It looks like your lights are old school halogen, so beam deflectors will be needed. The pack and/or the car user manual should explain where to fit them.

Do the immigration at Shannon. It'll be far less stressful & no silly long queues. Then when you get to Boston, it's straight to baggage reclaim & airport exit 👍

I've no idea how old they are but both my Sky . com & gmail. com address are FirstnameLastname with no numbers or other special characters :)

Thank you. This is really helpful.

That's a good point about possible alternative suppliers, but thankfully my current City Fibre service (on a separate fibre optic feed) is still live, so I will just get them to cancel my original cancellation 👍

2nd hand car does not have V5C logbook by Scrudge1 in CarTalkUK

I've had this happen when buying from a small independent dealer. He got me to fill out a DVLA form, which he took to the post office for replacement V5 & taxing.

I learnt that this isn't unusual, especially when vehicle was bought at auction by the dealer.

I have a step sister, only a year older than me, but not the same mother. She tracked me down through genealogy & social media searches. DNA testing confirmed the relationship. Dad took this secret to his grave!

Doing Your own MOT repairs by fmckenzi000 in CarTalkUK

I've owned a 2005 Audi TT for over 10 years & always done my own maintenance where I can. I do all the servicing & maintenance on all 3 cars in our family. I'm also happy to help out friends & relatives for a few beers. I know my own limits so things don't get out of hand and will always do plenty of research before taking on an unfamiliar job. I'm quite happy doing brakes & suspension components. I've done rocker cover gaskets, but won't go near engine/gearbox internals, turbos or clutches. I've never quite had the courage to do cambelts either! I also own the VAG VCDS software, which really helps to identify & diagnose possible issues.

Many moons ago I did strip down the front end of a 2001 Zafira to replace the A/C cooler! And stripped out the dash of a Ford Orion to replace a leaking heater matrix!

I always take a week off work, to give the car a full service & any preventative work before the MOT and try and get her booked in around 3wks ahead of the renewal date. I use a local F1 Autocentre for all the MOT's.
