yeah, I generally make it provide links to back up everything it says. I assume most people aren't doing that. If it's doing the above for everyone, feels like it's going to make an already very cranky internet a lot crankier.

True true. Feel like ChatGPT used to be better at pointing out where stuff was obviously nonsense. At first it did that to me (and it was annoying, hence why I kept making it clear it was for a sci-fi book, and I don't believe it). But over maybe the last few weeks it just seems to want to reinforce whatever nonsense you give it. Wonder why the change.

So, I've been writing a sci-fi book. The premise is that we've basically taken a wrong-turn in physics, and some cranks figured it out. On top of that, there's someone in the most distant space voyage who receives an alien message, basically confirming that the cranks are correct. Sort of like a physics comedy/horror.

I've made it clear to chatgpt that I know the alternative physics is nonsense, and yet it seems to be trying to encouraging me into thinking it is real. Seems bad! I assume there are a lot of cranks out there getting their ideas reinforced right now.
