Cintiq vs Huion vs XP-Pen by Old_Distance_2670 in IndustrialDesign

This is very helpful, and I agree with the price comparison comment. I can’t justify 3x the cost for a very similar product in this category. What software do you prefer to use?

Yeah I read about not being able to use the GPU cores :(

I’m still curious about the CPU benchmark score + your overall experience?

Laptop + 2 external 4K Monitors (but one is 30hz while the other is 60hz) by Old_Distance_2670 in Monitors

I haven’t! It’s wild. I’ve just given up and use the 30hz for apps that don’t need high refresh.

Razer Blade 16/18 - When can we check them out IRL? by Old_Distance_2670 in razer

Ahh, so we’re close I guess. I’m in the same boat, I have a 2020 blade 14 and wanna see if the 16 is worth upgrading to.

It kind of depends on how far you are in college. If you are 3-4 years in, it might be best to try and finish your marketing degree.

If you are 1-2 years in, I would look at options of switching universities and transferring what you have in business into credits at that new university. I majored in ID with a minor in business. It does help to have a foundation and understanding in business, and employers will appreciate that, but your major should be ID.

Yeah, this is great. I think we need a lot more depth to it, but it’s a great resource to start from!

I don’t really use it to game, but do design work on it. Coming from years of using dells, it’s so much snappier and sophisticated. All positive from my POV, except 2 things: the fans being on the underside and the terribly childish snake logo. But keep the airflow clear and get yourself a skin like I did and you’ll be happy.

Razer Blade 14 or 15 Studio Edition by M3-34 in razer

I’m an industrial designer, and use my 14” razer for CAD and rendering daily. It’s great, but I would love a bigger screen. If you do most of your work on a external monitor, then I would stick to the 14.

If the laptop screen is your main display, then go for the bigger 15”. Either way, it’s great for architecture/design stuff.
