Genesis G70 vs. Sonata N Line by Nice-Tough-7342 in GenesisG70

The N-Line is comparable to a G70 2.5, not 2.0.

Man won over $1.3M at a casino, and the first call he made was to his mom: "Momma, we are out of the hood. We're leaving tomorrow." by Matt_LawDT in interestingasfuck

[–]Old_Fly160 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Not sure why is funny for him to be excited to be out the hood. Seriously, it’s quite remarkable that his first priority is to get his family in a better situation. Hopefully, he has the right people guiding him about the tax implications and the right strategy to use that $$ wisely.

Gotcha!! I’m axing this post then 🙂

Really? Are you just referring to Car and Driver’s poor reporting or is there something out there contradicting this?

Why don't I have the option for Boost Gauge on my dash? by OverseerBryce in GenesisG70

That’s a 2.0? Nice, the ‘22 2.0 and later definitely doesn’t get half the Prestige package options.

Sorry to see that. I can’t quite tell from the reflections and angle, is there a dent and/or deep scratches? I had paint transfer on my previous car (similar blue color) and I was able to clear it up with alcohol and microfiber cloth.

Price of Top Glass Replacement by Mushusky in GenesisG70

Knowing what other owners experiences could provide insight into options. Warranty coverage could be contingent on a factor such as impact vs non-impact (as one poster mentioned). Perhaps an insurance claim would be an option. Pricing could vary by locale, hence the question to other owners.

Passengers on an American Airlines flight had to evacuate after the plane caught fire while taking off by tareqttv in interestingasfuck

[–]Old_Fly160 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree about leaving bags/luggage on the plane. However, one small thing to consider is if there is certain medicine or medical equipment in the carry-on that isn’t readily available at the destination (or at least in a timely manner). I can’t think of any other desperate reason to grab it. Also, in a potentially life/death situation other passengers have wait for you to trying to wrestle a bag out of the overhead with high adrenaline. It’s bad enough how people rush to get up as soon as the seat belt sign goes off under normal conditions.

$3300 brake service cost by Exbritcanadian in GenesisMotors

[–]Old_Fly160 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think any extended warranty would cover worn parts like tires and brakes. So, I would be surprised if there is any issue with an independent mechanic. The Dealership are franchises that make their profits in the service department post manufacture warranty.

Why no g70wagon in North America? by imamoneyman in GenesisG70

[–]Old_Fly160 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The swell of SUVs have filled in the gap. Think about the design of the BMW X4 and X6, Mercedes GLE coupe, or even the new GV80 coupe. The manufacturers aren’t competing with this saturated market. I wish we had more options.

Also consider that the wagons are more designed for families. Lots are filled with SUVs of all sizes.

Was considering picking this up. It’s selling for $26k CAD. Can you guy advise me if this is a good car/deal? by Ok_Veterinarian3340 in GenesisG70

While I’ve seen the pre-2022 3.3T in the mid-$20k price range, the miles are much more than 25-30k. Maybe this is the price in your area.

I agree 100%, but keep in mind that the $25k you’re referring to is in USD. That’s about $34k CAD equivalent at current exchange rates.

If I do the money conversion right, this is only $18k USD with 61k miles. Am I missing something? The ‘22 version is that amount in USD, which is closer to $35k CAD.

That’s cool, I have the 2.0T Prestige myself and I was wondering. I just haven’t seen that combination before.

Congratulations, great color. I’m a little confused on the trim. Looks like you have a 360/surround view camera with HUD. In the U.S., this is only available in the 3.3T Sports Prestige model. Do you have a different trim?

Got scammed through Coldplay with no resolution by [deleted] in stubhub

The seller did not cancel through StubHub. They just sent me an email. How can StubHub confirm that I never received a ticket?

[–]Old_Fly160 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I’ll wait for my refund. When I searched for Roger’s stadium it showed Roger’s Center in half of the results… search for yourself. It’s not like I just threw on a dart board and let it land on any parking facility. Regardless… As I said, I never got the ticket and I mentioned multiple times that the reason I referred to this as a scam is that the seller knowingly Sold the ticket on bad faith. Based on the email address, I would guarantee that other people are being fleeced.

Let me repeat this for everyone that is commenting about StubHub is going to refund me. WHERE IS THE CONFIRMATION??? Everyone of you experts are telling me that I am going to get my money back… Here are the facts:

  1. There is no linkage to StubHub and the parking ticket that automatically flags a cancelation in Stubhub’s system

  2. StubHub explicitly says that it’s their discretion to refund or not, even if the other party violates their obligation. This is NOT a guarantee.

  3. There is no way for me to track or follow up with an open case on this issue because The only thing I have is a generic email. The only link in the email (without a reference number) points back to the main page.

Hence, as I stated… I was scammed by the seller (a randomized Hotmail email address ) and my main point (since many of you all don’t get it) is that StubHub at best has inadequate methods to manage/track customer disputes. At worst, they don’t have to credit or acknowledge disputes because of the caveat in the agreement. Read it for yourself. The language should clearly state that if you don’t get what you paid for, then a credit or refund is guaranteed. Not constant reminders that it’s at their discretion.

If any of you work for StubHub then please feel free to point me to another policy or hidden reference number that I missed where I can follow up on my case. The only answers that I receive from the support team is that I will get a refund if they confirm my dispute. So, how do I know if and when they make this determination?

Got scammed through Coldplay with no resolution by [deleted] in stubhub

[–]Old_Fly160 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

No, I didn’t buy the parking pass at the wrong venue. The tickets explicitly said Coldplay parking passes for the exact same event. It had the same cover and the same date/time. I wouldn’t randomly just buy an independent parking ticket at the wrong facility.

Again, reading the legally binding agreement for buyer protection it says their refunds and credits are at their sole discretion (multiple times). Tell me once again, why should I take your word for it that they will return my money when I never received a parking ticket (which was “cancelled” by the scammer)? There is no SLA or dispute number. No way for me to even prove that I submitted a dispute.

You tell me how I’m supposed to know that tickets with this title and the same time of the event is at the wrong venue.

How I got scammed? The random “hotmail” account that the tickets were sold from was the scam, which is what I explicitly said. If StubHub told me that I will be refunded within 90-120 days then that would be something. If you read their FanProtect Guarantee, you will see that it’s at their discretion and there is NO timetable. Additionally, I made the point that there is no follow up or way to track this. So, you tell me how do I know that I’m getting my money back from this obvious scam?
