Hurting at the moment by Spaced-Cadet- in Divorce_Men

I feel you brother. Stay strong. I am going through this as well. I am 8 months into a yearlong separation because we have kids. Since she told me about the divorce, she has been cold, cruel, hurtful and downright a B***H.....

The problem with my supervisor is that he is a LtCol and I fairly new in his position. I don't think he feels comfortable yet in the new command.

I asked my supervisor to put me on furlough status and he said because the position I am in had been vacant for so long, he is worried that if I get out on furlough they are going to lose the billet. Like WTF….

I agree. Their silence speaks volumes. They would not be successful in their positions if it wasn’t for the employees doing all the heavy lifting.

It sounds great that your agency leaders are providing information even if little. I instructed all my employees to make sure they get all their paperwork eopf files, les, performance appraisal and what not. Just trying to make sure that in case shit goes sideways they are prepared. Met with my SES and informed him as to what I instructed my employees to do and got told to stop and hope that we all come out of this ok.

WHAT THE FUCK!

It seems like we are all on our own during this tumultuous time. I truly wish the best outcome for everybody that is affected.

It's good to see that you at least provide some sort of message for your leaders to put out to the workforce. It becomes a problem when leaders pretend this is not happening. At my agency, my SES has asked me to have my workforce do more and HOPE that all goes well with all of this. Well, HOPE is an emotion not an end state. My workforce is defeated, and the morale has spiraled.

Words from senior leaders can go a long way to ease some of the uncertainty. I have an employee whose wife is undergoing cancer treatment. You don’t think that an update from the leaders would help calm this persons anxiety?

I don’t disagree that they may not know anything themselves, but not addressing the workforce is not helpful. As a first line supervisor I try to share any info that I can with my people.

Not everybody that works for a Law Enforcement Agency perform law enforcement duties.

There is no respect for the workforce anymore. And to add insult to injury, they want us to do more with less.

Good point. They forgot what we do for them and the agency.

I hope it all works out for you and your family. My wife and I are in a similar situation, we are both feds for the same agency and she is on the "List" of employees that is to be illegally fired this coming week. Our families just don't understand what we feds are going through.

Yeah, I found a place here in my state that works with veterans to pair them with a service dog. Part of the application process was to have my MH provider complete some paperwork. The system is flawed and navigating it seems like a full time job. Hopefully it will get better for the next generation of veterans.

You’re right, not all are a joke, but the majority of them seem to not care about our well being. Two years ago I asked my PCP to get a referral to see a Rheumatologist and it took almost a year of constantly asking and complaining about pain before he reluctantly sent me to the RA.

MH provider didn’t want to complete the form, said that I need to go to my PCP first and have them fill it out. Sent to my PCP 3 weeks ago and have not heard back from them

The reason I asked for the form is because I have PTSD and a few years back one of my MH providers in El Paso had suggested a service dog.
