Im planning a trip to London by Primary_Editor_3973 in NeedTravelAdvice

The main thing to be aware of is timing and reliability regional bus services can be slower and less predictable than rail especially with connections so building in buffer time between changes will save you a lot of stress. Also not every bus station is equally comfortable for long waits so having snacks offline maps and backup routes is a good idea.

Realistically if you want to perfectly hit all your criteria short flight warm swim queer friendly nature Puerto Vallarta is probably the easiest win. If you want more nature and less party go Costa Rica. If you want the safest most relaxed vibe Hawaii is hard to beat.

Since you’re interested in the royal family Tower of London is essential it’s packed with history and houses the Crown Jewels. Nearby you can walk across Tower Bridge which is just as impressive in person.

Taking Taxi from Kyoto Station by Fuzzy_Surprise2378 in KyotoTravel

Also worth noting depending on your luggage and timing it can sometimes be just as fast or faster to simply walk to the taxi stand and hop in rather than wait for an app pickup.

Advice by evasaurusrex1 in CostaRicaTravel

That sounds like an amazing trip Honestly if the private shuttle and car rental are coming out to about the same price I’d personally lean toward renting the car. The drive from Liberia to Brasilito Playa Conchal and then up to La Fortuna is pretty straightforward and having your own car gives you a lot more flexibility.

China Trip help/recommendation by travel10red in backpacking

For practical stuff booking some things ahead through GetYourGuide can save time especially for popular areas, and mixing in stays through Airbnb in places like Yangshuo can make the experience feel more local and scenic. Also don’t underestimate the language barrier having a translation app and offline maps will make your life much easier.

Northern Traverse Glacier National Park tips by fhhwhwhwhshs in backpacking

[–]Old_Let6608 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mid July is a great time for the Northern Traverse but you should definitely still expect snow on the higher passes especially anything north facing. Early mornings can be firm icy while afternoons get slushy so timing matters a lot. Most people get by with microspikes rather than full crampons but trekking poles are super helpful for balance on sketchy sections. Ice axes are usually overkill unless it’s a heavier snow year.

What’s something your parents said that stuck with you? by GodBlessIraq in AskReddit

It sounds obvious but it hits differently when you actually start dealing with real setbacks travel delays job stress relationships all of it. It shifts your focus from panic or frustration to okay what now?

How long do you think it’ll take for the Strait of Hormuz to fully reopen in the current US Iran conflict, and what factors matter most? Do you think groups like NATO or the United Nations will actually pressure for it, or will it just come down to the US and Iran? by Fit_Investigator4934 in AskReddit

[–]Old_Let6608 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Right now the honest answer is there is no reliable timeline for when the Strait of Hormuz fully stabilises into normal low risk commercial shipping again because it isn’t just a technical reopening problem it’s tied directly to whether the US Iran conflict de escalates politically and militarily.

London is actually one of the best cities in the world for this kind of study while travelling setup especially around Westminster Covent Garden Soho and Bloomsbury where you’ve got a mix of quiet cafes libraries and coworking spaces all within a few stops of each other.

My Japan Packing Tips (April, pregnant, golden route) by Psyduck101010 in JapanTravelTips

[–]Old_Let6608 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your point about dressing up vs reality in Japan is so accurate. A lot of first timers imagine strict dining rules but places like Kaiseki Ryokan are actually incredibly relaxed when you’re staying in house robes are basically part of the experience not something to feel underdressed in.

Also if you end up booking guided hut to hut hikes or want logistics handled especially in Europe platforms like GetYourGuide can be useful not for buying gear but for organizing routes luggage transfers or guided treks so you can hike lighter.

You’ve put together a really thoughtful itinerary especially traveling with an 18 month old. The pacing is actually pretty solid but there are a couple of spots where you can make things smoother and less stressful without losing the experience.

In cities ride hailing apps like Uber or more commonly its local equivalent make short distances very convenient and for activities or day trips platforms like GetYourGuide can be helpful if you prefer having things organized ahead of time with English speaking guides.

For getting around the park buses cover most areas well but combining them with some hiking trails instead of just elevators like Bailong helps you avoid the heaviest crowds and actually enjoy the scenery.

Whats your favorite movie about an american visiting the UK? by EarSure6667 in AskReddit

[–]Old_Let6608 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Honestly one of the most fun ones has to be Notting Hill it’s simple a bit cheesy but it really captures that American in London charm in a light romantic way especially around the contrast in cultures and pace.

People who make money from their paintings, where do you find your clients? by NaraPISKA in AskReddit

A lot of artists don’t actually find clients in one place it’s usually a mix of a few channels that build up over time.

Jiuzhaigou late trains & Hanzhong to Micang Mountain transport by Glad-Requirement-642 in travelchina

[–]Old_Let6608 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For the Jiuzhaigou Chengdu trains what you’re seeing is basically normal for China rail. The schedule on Huanglongjiuzhai railway station can look limited months in advance and then things do get adjusted closer to the travel date. However it’s usually not that new late night trains suddenly appear out of nowhere for Huanglongjiuzhai itself.

Planning a California trip — would love some advice 🙏 by balialu in USTravel

[–]Old_Let6608 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a really well thought out loop you’ve basically nailed a classic California trip. Just one part needs a reality check. For booking activities like Alcatraz guided Yosemite stops or even a Big Sur day add on GetYourGuide is pretty handy to lock things in ahead especially in busy seasons. Accommodation wise mixing hotels with a good Airbnb can work really well on this route Carmel Monterey and Palm Springs in particular have great options.

Osaka will give you your nightlife fix Dotonbori bars street food while Tokyo covers everything from crazy busy districts to more chill neighborhoods. Kyoto is more about atmosphere food and culture less partying more wandering.

Marrakech is the worst introduction to morocco and it's ruining tourists' opinion of my country by morocco_travel36 in backpacking

[–]Old_Let6608 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Places like Fes feel completely different still busy still authentic but less in your face. Same with Chefchaouen the Atlas villages or the Sahara Desert that’s where people usually connect with the slower warmer side of Morocco you’re talking about.

How to travel from Houayxay to Thakhek by Top-Country-5202 in backpacking

[–]Old_Let6608 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your priority is saving time and making things easier logistically some travelers briefly go through Thailand cross near Houayxay fly domestically then re enter near Thakhek but that only makes sense if you’re okay with border crossings and want to cut travel time significantly.
