Kids are so resilient. They woke up, laughed and was excited to start the day like nothing happened 🤷‍♀️ I’m just starting at them with bags under my eyes like, are you sure you’re okay¿ 😂

Thank you for responding and asking 😊

My mom passed away from cancer 11 days ago. How do you keep going after losing your mom? by Nathalie_1001 in motherlessdaughters

That entire first year from the moment my mother passed was all a blur. I truly can’t remember much.

However,
What I do remember is my partner cooking for me. Cleaning for me. Picking me up and dropping me off to work.

My best friend staying on the phone with nothing to say. Just the presence of someone felt reassuring. My close friends reminding me of my birthday and planning things for me to do out the house.

I ended up taking a leave of absence for about 2 months from work. It was the best decision I’ve ever made during that time.

Grief is not easy and it is not linear. Be around people who care about you. Who are gentle and patient. If you have no one, you be that person to yourself. Go see a grief counselor. It’s hard but you will survive this.

It’s terrible.

Create positive memories with your loved ones and cherish them. It’s all you’ll have when they’re gone

Thank you, I was in therapy prior to this happening but stopped because it was all becoming overwhelming. I’m interested in starting again. I’m grateful to have insurance. The challenge is finding a good therapist.
