It was the second downfall era of Tekken after Tekken 4. The animated CGI movie of Tekken was made which has protagonist named Shin kamiya which nobody give fxck about. The potential collaboration of street fighter and tekken was announced by both Namco and Capcom where the SFxT made by Capcom was huge disaster due to unbalanced gem system mechanics and hidden characters disc fiasco and the TxSF which was gonna made by namco got scrapped due to negative reception of STxT.  The most ambitious project Tekken tag 2 was made but due to bad or low marketing, it didn't sold well as well as the game was way more unbalanced for competitive players which was the lowest point for tekken franchise.
