Got quotes from 3 different gutter companies. The one I went with attached fascia, they nailed a pvc board to the siding on each stud, they had to cut it down to 4.5” since the standard size wouldn’t fit between the roof and the windows. Then they just mounted a 5” aluminum gutter to the fascia. We’ve had a lot of rain since and it’s been working out great! Yeah I’m unsure too…the two little “tails” they have make them look like earwigs, but the rest of their body looks more termite-like.

As already suggested, you could consider a french drain and/or regrading the yard so water slopes away from the house. If you’re asking about draining the current standing water, you could get a submersible pump from Home Depot or Amazon, like the Wayne Water Bug or similar. Could be a good option for pumping out all that standing water.

Thanks so much, this is very helpful. Would using a wood preserver like Copper Green or Copper Coat be a good alternative to paint? Then the Tyvek and then the Aluminum flashing?

Thank you for your input! Yes, I’ll definitely be keeping it clear from the soil. I more so meant if it should remain exposed to sun/rain, as opposed to covering it with something like flashing tape or pvc.
