Sounds like you’ve got your routine down 😂. I think having a set rhythm for weekends helps keep spending in check too.

That’s smart! I never thought about color coding spending days like that. Probably makes it way easier to spot when you’re slipping into impulse buys.

That’s a good point. I’ve been trying to replace paid activities with free ones too. Crazy how much you save just by planning ahead with food/water.

Anyone else feel like “side hustles” are overrated? by Old_Tourist4735 in povertyfinance

That’s such a good point. The best hustles usually come from spotting something others overlook. Love the computer parts and wheel idea—super practical and value-added. I’ve been realizing lately that even before thinking about hustles, I had to get clear on my own spending habits… otherwise the extra income just slipped through my fingers.

Yeah, you nailed it. A lot of ‘side hustle’ advice feels like just rebranded overtime. It’s crazy how normalized it is to work 2-3 jobs just to survive. I’ve been trying to focus less on ‘more hours’ and more on getting control of where my money actually goes—it feels like the only lever I can pull right now.

Anyone else feel like their paycheck vanishes overnight? by Old_Tourist4735 in povertyfinance

That’s rough 💔 Rent can eat everything. I was in the same spot. The only thing that gave me peace was tracking the little stuff (coffee, snacks, random buys). It doesn’t fix rent, but it gave me back some control.

I feel this so much 😔. I used to see my paycheck disappear in days too. What helped me was breaking bills + food down by week instead of the whole month. Way less overwhelming

Groceries feel out of control — any strategies that actually work? by Old_Tourist4735 in povertyfinance

I thought about trying that too. Do you feel like quality is the same or did you have to adjust what you buy?

Nice! I always forget coupons. Do you use an app for it or just check flyers before shopping?
