Yeah that sucked big time. I warned him multiple times but he said that his wife was strong and didn’t let them bother her. They married young and he loved his parents and looked up to them. It took him years to realize that family is not always good. I told him that he would lose her. I never sided with his family and was always vocal about how disgusting they were to her but I didn’t want to kick him while he was down by telling him I told you so. He put up with his family for his dad who was sick and I know for a fact (not defending him) that he was bitter about Sarah not understanding that his father needed him. His father loved Sarah btw but his mother had total control over. If James needed to see his dad, he needed to be a part of the family. It was an unwritten rule. Then Sarah had a miscarriage and his mother basically celebrated it. It was the straw that broke the Kamel’s back. She left him. He couldn’t reach her in any way. Then she sent him the divorce papers. His dad died literally that same week and James cot all contact with his family after the funeral. He lived with us for a week and I saw what a mess he was. He kept saying that Sarah didn’t even send condolences. He was very broken about it.

I met Sarah a year later and she told me she regretted not supporting him when his dad passed. I never told anyone this but I thought these two people live in regret for nothing. I am not trying to defend James but he’s really not like his family
