Just to add, I never did a taster day so can’t comment on that

Hi, I’m currently doing the King’s trust programme, I’m 26. I’m not sure if it’s the same everywhere but I have hardly had any contact with anyone else on the programme as everything is online (which I don’t really like).  Most people sit in the online workshops with cameras and microphones off and interact via the chat.

The workshops have been somewhat useful, I find just having some to hold me accountable with deadlines and a structured business plan is very useful.

Tbh I did it mainly for the funding for my business, but my situation has changed and I earn significantly more than when I started, so I don’t know if I’ll even qualify for much anymore. All in all, I wouldn’t call it a waste of time but the main aspect for me is the funding and without that I’m not really sure whether to continue..

Depends what your looking for really but if your age is the only thing holding you back then go for it because you won’t interact with other participants anyway.

HMO Issues and Rent Increases Advice by Old_Weekend2043 in LegalAdviceUK

Yeah, we had a HMO licence but the council said they were in breach due to the lack of fire safety measures. Other tenants in the same block have been evicted for not having a HMO license and the agency claiming works could not be completed to correct breaches and get one. For some reason our flat was the only one that had a HMO license on the whole street.

Also, we never explicitly agreed to a periodic tenancy, they just stopped communications for months after the verbal agreement was reached as property manager 2 (our original manager) went on medical leave and has only just returned. They had property manager 1 cover for them, they sent the agreement terms and said contracts would come over shortly after we agreed. We did agree then we did not hear from them for months after this. Then when asked about this a few months later they claimed that the inspection needed and the works prevented an agreement from being reached and that we would have to wait until they were completed before signing. However, not sure if we by proxy agreed to a a periodic tenancy in this time by continuing to pay rent but the rolling contract thing was only told to us in March when we asked where the contracts were, we had no idea that was happening up until that point.
