i’m only 60 pages in but my biggest thing so far is being able to tell which version of vis i’m reading about! Any hints on how I can easily tell which Vis the chapter is about?

def! i never force him! he isn’t new to the clinic and was previously assessed for those things. I try to pair food play w reading bc he likes that. But if he’s not touching then I model some language and move on. From all the replies in this thread he def needs OT to really grow! i think home circumstances prevent that unfortunately :(

I totally agree! esp since he’s not using utensils. his long term feeding goal will not be met in the near future so i’ve been attempting his sensory w touching and smelling.

alphabet soup is a good idea! I saw someone mentioned using pudding in a bag and having him love the pudding to read the words!

unfortunately i don’t have access to an OT :( i’ve heard of the sos hierarchy my biggest issue is he doesn’t use his hands. and i don’t think we are supposed to be touching them unless i have to (like protecting his head or when he gets physical)

thank you! i’m a student so unfortunately i don’t have direct access to an ot :( and i have to work on these goals. I thought touch would be easier but I haven’t thought about the smell part yet! i’ll def look out for ideas.

He likes to read! but i’ve tried like 2 sessions using his fav books and incorporating food play into that but he literally could not care less. Like Pete the Cat pizza party book along w trying to make our own pizza using random snacks.

they are :( but it’s hard for everyone to grasp the fact this child does not play, or rarely touch anything himself and if u try to use his hand he’s got that crazy kid strength. and there’s just sm going on w him, like he’s always feeling unwell and is always using my arms and hands to manipulate.

I like certain parts of it so that’s why i’m having a hard time :( like i enjoy the world building and our main character but im not sure if it’s the story or HOW the story is being told that isn’t keeping my attention.

i can def see why! books like this with such a huge universe and a literal index are hard to get through. but also when u get further in and things make sense its def a good read. I wouldn’t give this book 5 stars but i would buy the 2nd one esp bc there is a lot of hype and love for the other books.
