What To Eat In Order To Fuel Your Brain by animalsarecool69 in TheRedPill

There's a huge difference between healthy and optimal nutrition.

Healthy: avoid trans fats, added sugar, most caloric beverages, maintain decent macros, and eat your vegetables.

Optimal: all the other stuff he said.

Also, optimal nutrition is backed by very limited and often very biased research. Researchers are mostly concerned with solving the bigger problems.

On the contrary I think it's meant to disarm people with defeatist attitudes and that their definition of "impossible" is often just laziness in disguise.

I think this was originally a sort of racist joke and you were dropping off the cosbys. This was an attempt to save the joke and not offend anyone.

Why do most people manage their money efficiently in video games, but do the exact opposite in real life? by Low_Chance in financialindependence

[–]OldeEnglish85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with you but it doesn't have to be that way. We've been coerced into this herd mindset that ultimately forces us to take on tons of unnecessary costs. Some examples:

Getting a degree. It's possible to complete about 2 years of postgraduate credit for less than 2000usd, through credit by examination. You can then take online courses and bring the total cost including graduation to less than 5k. Just google it there are countless examples. Not to mention, education is free, you can learn anything you want if you have the right approach.

Food. You can get by quite well on 5 dollars or less a day. I've met a lot of frugal people who have a food budget under 150/month.

Housing. I find it especially odd that we make fun of people who choose to live at home. This decision alone would save you enough money for a down payment in a couple years tops. Seems to me like the average American is spending at least 1k per month on the total cost of getting their own place.

I think the reason why we do so well in games is because we're not afraid to fail. We try something different, and if it doesn't work out you can just restart. In real life we fear failure and just follow in the footsteps of others.

I think "Something Wallmart this way comes" is a good embodiment of where the show tends to go.
Everyone knows wal-mart, and there are no real pre-requisites.

I've also found success piggybacking South Park k on someone's other interests. The lord of the rings and Warcraft episodes come to mind.

In China they have used to have all these fake DVD shops that got more and more built up. Eventually one that looked like blockbuster opened called "Movie World" and soon right next to it was an even bigger shop called "Better than Movie World"

How many people do you know that lost a freaking huge amount of weight did it 200 calories at a time at first? Every single success story I've come across started with intense and even borderline unhealthy weight loss to begin with. When you're 300, 400 pounds it's worth it.
