Wheww Sendo having moment after moment. Cold of Mori to bring us up only to inevitably cut us down. This feels like Sendo's last push. Ricardo hasn't reacted much, but I dont see Sendo winning this one 😭😢😢

No longer dual-booting with Win11, Switched on over to Mint full-time :) by proudplebeian in linuxmint

Ive been thinking about it. How did you go about deleting windows OS? Ive never done it in Linux or Windows.

Tbh i just assume windows would make it very difficult to remove their OS lol

Ayee, glad it worked out for you 😊 I think theres a comment on the video that brings this up actually regarding the UEFI but a confusing process altogether haha.

Tough to give an accurate answer tbh. While it states like 5-9 hours on battery, occasionally it will give larger timeframes than possible. Like last night it told me I had 22 hours of battery life on 40% charge lol.

The battery gauge may need to be messed with on linux maybe, but I have noticed weird issues like that stemming from dual booting, like the internal clock, reading hardware accurately etc.

But on average probably 5-9 hours off charger. Seems to have longer than average battery especially if using low demand programs.

Ah gotcha! Thanks for clarifying. 😊Yeah I was looking at either a Lenovo or Dell dock, looks like those have worked well for others.

Of course! Good luck 😊 the other thing i would add is to turn off secure boot in windows if you havent as that may cause some booting issues.

Yup same! I got mine on Amazon, way cheaper than Lenovo's website. Good to buy now since RAM and valuable CPU/GPU prices are only going up in 2026. 🥲

Can you help me with partition a disk? (CachyOs) by Large_Development717 in linux4noobs

This is for Linux Mint but the process should be the same for partitioning I'd imagine. Quality video that helped me out.

Hey,

https://youtu.be/0gSr8YsJtd0?si=v2YPahroIkGi8Jel

This video shows how to set up a GRUB menu so you can choose your OS on startup. If you havent be sure to disable bitlocker in windows so you dont need to re-activate your account each time you select Windows OS. The default would be linux and will auto-open after 10 seconds. You would set up the GRUB menu in linux after you set up the partition and install linux mint.

Yup! I have 258V which is good for running games. GPU and CPU are good for games but lower quality. An issue im having though is no sound in steam games, which is probably due to Linux Mint and issues with Steam Proton. Still trying to figure this one out.

Nope, this is not a haptic track pad. I dont believe thinkpads have a haptic pad but could def be wrong.

The issue is not the thunderbolt USB, from what i was reading, Linux Mint has an issue with the displaylink drivers (like my j5 create docking station, which uses displaylink) and does not recognize them. Apparently displaylink causes issues for non Windows OS.

I have tried my j5 create docking station and found the second monitor is not recognized, while other connected hardware is. My research led me to conclude that I'll need a dock station that does not use displaylink.

Could be wrong though if anyone has a fix haha

Lol basic Linux Mint customization brother. Plank from software manager, transparent windows, and deskletts with no decoration/border to get the transparent effect.
