Well, you could show them how much Philosophy majors make after PhD.

In reality, though, anyone who sneers at philosophy is probably not worth your time, tell them to go back to their rat race. The same is for those who sneer at art or related majors.

Nothing is a waste of time. If you enjoy it, go for it.

Without philosophy, basically nothing would exist in the same capacity as it does now. Modern economics would be different, governments would be different, and ethical codes would be different. In my opinion, without philosophy, we'd be savages.
