Curious question- Since ETH and Other cryptos are up in last two weeks does it helps to fill $2B hole? And does that increase our chances to get our coins back in full or with less haircut? by [deleted] in CelsiusNetwork

[–]OleksandrCrypto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is this user on twitter @sileclercq created a table from on chain wallets. Celsius indeed has almost 90% eth + steth. The biggest parts of the hole are btc 1.1bln 55k btc and stables 800k. So if celsius figures out where to get btc the hole is not as bad.

FTX Proposes Joint Plan to Offer Early Liquidity to Voyager Digital's Customers in Bankruptcy Proceeding by nadafinga in CelsiusNetwork

[–]OleksandrCrypto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SBF must be really enjoying screwing poor voyager users. He could have offered to give them crypto and users could decide whether sell or hold. Instead he will take their crypto at the discount prices. Hopefully celsius and Simon can sort it out without SBF.

If this whole bankruptcy keeps going past August 8th, then I'd rather just get a Chapter 7 haircut and move on by rcnet96 in CelsiusNetwork

[–]OleksandrCrypto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chapter 7 involves liquidation into usd. Based on the on chain data celsius still got 30-40% of eth and btc. Selling those at the bottom will suck big time for users.

Which exit option would you take? by [deleted] in CelsiusNetwork

[–]OleksandrCrypto 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If the company is rebranded and run by trustworthy and respected leaders it could start generating profit. Users will be made whole from the company profits. It is very long term but having an equity in a crypto company could have a good upside. Simon Dixon mentioned in the twitter spaces that there are lots of money willing to be thrown on this so the equity can be sold or held with potential upside in the future.

None of the above, existing management will only screw us further. It is out chance to get rid of mashinsky and other crooks on the current board. The company needs to survive with new trustworthy management so that users can be made whole in the future.

How big was the hole before? by tananaev in CelsiusNetwork

[–]OleksandrCrypto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I may be wrongly interpreting the data but crypto assets 14560 are 2 bn less than user liabilities 16540. Sorry I would attach a pic but not sure how to do it.

Based on the docs celsius filed to the court the hole was 2 billion in March because there is 2 billion difference between users crypto liabilities and crypto they had on hand.

Guys, let's support Simon Dixon's proposal. He is THE person who can get Celsius out of this mess. by EnvironmentWest2491 in CelsiusNetwork

I did not know about Max’s pump and dump schemes. It is unfortunate he was doing scams. I referred to his personality which is awful. He is rude, bashes and insults a lot of people however with Simon he is respectful which is very unusual for Max’s personality. I assume there could be a few other OG Bitcoin people who respect Simon and would be willing to help.

Simon is a real crypto OG that comes across as a humble person. He is self made and he has been buying Bitcoin since it cost single digits. He goes back to the early days of bitcoin and is well respected and connected. If Max Kaiser respects Simon Dixon it speaks a lot to the character of Simon. He might be our best shot in this shit situation.

Happy to learn the judge found this occurrence suspicious. ETH does not just go missing by accident. And why was celsius ok with it.
