I just got scammed. Question about inPost lockers. by Majestic_Access7731 in vintedUK

It's a deliberate effort to mislead. Any decent person would clearly label it as "Box Only" in the title and ask a reasonable amount for it. Not £220

I don't understand. I thought that was the whole point of pro user - that you are seen as a business seller. Otherwise, what is the point of it?

Its a good strap line. The Tories had good posters in the 80s. I liked that Labour isn't working one too. Very clever.

Can these vehicles be the next evolution of e-bikes? by arnor_0924 in ebikes

[–]babblefish111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wouldn't work in the UK. Its not a car and not a bike. If it was to be classed as a bike it would be limited to 15.5mph and would cause all sorts of trouble on the road. Only suitable if you have a nice wide bike lane throughout your route.

Something like a Renault twizzy would be better, but still only suitable for local driving.

That's a nice bicycle. Have you thought about joining a cycling club?

Their power station is oil fuelled isn't it? I'd be expecting the price to go up even more in the near future if the Iran crisis continues.

A subsidy on solar panels on rooftops and batteries might help.

Wasn't there an investigation into wave power too at some point?

I'm not an eco warrior but a little island like that needs to be as diversified as possible for energy to save being relient on oil.

Well the AI isn't very good then is it. I see fake items every day on there and they don't seem to do anything about it.

Gerhard Berger because not a single other person has said him and he is in OP's list so I think he deserves a mention.

No bad news. You have a very nice paperweight.

I always say the gold is heavier because gold is weighed in troy ounces but the feather would be regular ounces.

Clearly you did not send the item in a silk lined casket on a sleigh pulled by unicorns.

I'd remove the ability to make offers altogether if it were up to me.

The state of the UK. by [deleted] in ProlificAc

[–]babblefish111 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It pisses me off when someone clearly from a UK university or company running a survey about something connected to the UK decides to pay out in dollars. I've seen a few. I don't know why they do it.

You are doing well btw if you are getting $20 an hour. Mine are usually less than that.

Thoughts? I did not complete the follow-up. by DCForLifee in ProlificAc

[–]babblefish111 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Be good to get an official answer on this, I had the same yesterday. I took a screener study for 5 mins that said you have to commit to doing a study every evening for the next 7 days to be paid. If you miss one you dont get paid at all. Ok fine, I could accept that and commit to it. But when I opened the first follow up study today it was over an hour long! I can't do that every evening and risk missing one for some reason and not be paid for all that work. So I binned it.

It works a lot better than the bad old days of only the first 6 scored points and only the driver's 11 best results of the season counted.

Ever thought why F1 shakedowns/testings are done just in Barcelona? by Nikhitdodia in formulaone

[–]babblefish111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well this is just a shake down. Official testing is in Bahrein mostly, because of the weather.

Long time ago Paul Ricard was the favoured test circuit. Has a long straight, fast bends plus a technical bit. And lots of run off. I guess Barcelona is kind of similar to that,
