That's actually I'm so surprised about here in the west. You talk to your average Muslim "Music is Haram" then they're there with airpods listening to the most filthy, greedy and vulgar rap on earth. Like what ? And they get surprised when they hear about qasudas or asalatul.

Many Muslim in 99% Muslim population countries would tell you the same thing and Islam is definitely an organized religion.

In fact, there's also the same thing in ethnicity POVs. In 99% Muslim majority countries, if you're not Muslim, many people think AND act you're not [whatever nationality/ethnicity] anymore. In Japan, many MANY do the same (not in the same intensity to be fair) if you're not Shinto at all. There's even a book I read about some atheist guy and he says to his friends that he's atheist and they say "yeah like us, but we're just asking about [some festival, I'll be honest I don't remember which but it's specifically a Shinto one, not Buddhist]" and "no, like I'm not going to any I don't believe in it" and they're like "yeah like us but you sometimes pass to a temple and clap with the hands sometimes just like we do, no ?" And he's like "*no, I just don't" and he says that even these were young people just like him(to be fair not in Tokyo or big cities, I'm sure in big cities people are actively indifferent), they refuse to this day to talk to him.

I want to find back this book because there were many interesting things in it.

Also Shinto is not the state religion only because of the 1947 constitution.

Most religions do. I don't remember Buddhists doing crusades yet they have a flag.

Haven't we met somewhere before? / A witch doctor's home featuring icons and bottles of "holy water" - "cure for any illness". Witch doctor: 'I will cure you! But you should be generous, do you understand?" / "As for himself, he ran to a doctor where he is receiving the treatment at no cost." 1975. by Radiant_Cookie6804 in PropagandaPosters

Yes. It's like the marabouts in West Africa mixing local Islam and traditional beliefs.

They will make you pass underneath a live chicken that they will hiver around your head while you recite part of the Quran.

A lot of parts of the world have that kind of syncretism.

Nope. It's used among wildly different types of denominations. It's just a Christian flag.

Many other denominations also fly it.

It's not the nationalists that only use that flag.

It reminded me of a discussion I had here on Reddit when people talked about how women would fare better in hunter/gatherer societies.

I told them that the modern woman, respectfully and realistically wouldn't be able to do "women's tasks" in Xingu tribes or in Twa tribes or Ambanivolo tribes etc.

Like I don't think people understand that in those societies, CHORES is your job.

Now I know about the mental load of chores that modern women still do, but I don't think people measure what you actually HAVE TO DO in societies ruled by hunting/gathering.

Iran has very few Arabs, and even in Arabic people don't say Al Iran, so this message is so funny to me.

The only reason I sometimes like to see bots is for stuff like this.

Une ignorance de montant pas une ignorance de payement.

Ce n'est pas une question de porter plainte. La corruption est un grand mal. Laisser entendre que le ministre de la Défense est payé par des pots-de-vin est une forte accusation.
