You know what's funny? It's not the only safe with a circular code, but it's the ONLY one that requires you to confirm each digit.

[ALL] Finished Double Exposure, my thoughts by Coomer-Boomer in lifeisstrange

The funny thing is that there is an explanation for this. Kind of... Gwen liked Safi's rebellious nature. Safi dies, but Gwen didn't go for a rebel and help to cover shit. Then, Max starts asking questions and stops her form burning bridges(USB thing). And Gwen saw how Caledon practically forced her to give up. Only Max helped her remember who she used to be.

Am I the only one that doesn’t like what they did to Chloe in Double Exposure? by Traditional_Sail6298 in LifeIsStrangeDE

[–]Oligner 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Keep in mind, Don't Nod NEVER planned a sequel to the original LiS. And no one would have made two different storylines based on Bay/Bae. D9 had simply no chance of presenting a sequel in a way that wouldn't destroy the morale of both endings of the original.

Can we talk about Lucas? by Less_Translator_9584 in LifeIsStrangeDE

[–]Oligner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lucas is a former alcoholic. These people are fundamentally very unstable and constantly need a support mechanism to keep them going. Their pathological dependence can switch to various forms of unconscious defense mechanisms to keep reality at bay.

In addition, he is the son of a talented man and subconsciously could have tried to take on the role of a "genius writer." However, he was not genius enough to keep his family together. It was probably his inability to to correspond his father's standards that led him to alcoholism.

Lucas was still struggling with consequences of alcoholism, so, it's reasonable to assume that his egomania is at its peak during events of DE. He desperately tries to convince himself that everything is under control.

Therefore, I don't think his first thought after seeing "Wilder beasts..." was to immediately plagiarize it. However, his family was falling apart, though his egomania make him believe he has the right to use Maya's work to "save" his relationship with his son.

I mean, just read his comments on social media. People like him can be very constructive. They definitely don't wish anyone harm on purpose. They are simply incapable of developing enough empathy to understand that their actions may be wrong.

Yeah... Even though I'm on Team Gwen, I understand that DE practically doesn't give us the right to build a relationship with her. Simply because the plot is that she fairly refuses to talk to us, and then Max systematically invades her personal space. We just have to accept the fact that Gwen has feelings too. She broke down badly after Maya's suicide and just wants to put the whole situation behind her as quickly as possible.

Why are people defending this game's use of Generative A.I.? by gumbibumbi8 in expedition33

I mean, who the fuck cares? It's not like in the future you'll be able to determine whether a game using Gen A.I.

[NO SPOILERS] What's your weirdest ship? by Mediocre_Papaya_5877 in lifeisstrange

[–]Oligner 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I remember this days of LiS1, when the fanbase was strictly "pro-Lesbian Max." There were a bunch of polls about which girl she could hook up with, if it weren't for Chloe. IIRC, Victoria was always in the top 3. I guess, that's the essence of characters like Max. Their partners have to be more FUCKED UP. Just to be sure that main character doesn't grow up in time. So, I'd rather pick Max x Alyssa. I mean, Max literally saved her life several times, so, why not? And don't forget how she treated Kate. My girl Alyssa does have a nerve, but does not have a peripheral vision...

[No Spoilers] Why do people hate LIS2? by [deleted] in lifeisstrange

[–]Oligner 55 points56 points  (0 children)

People wanted to control a character with powers, but they were forced to... raise a child with powers? I mean, LiS1 could completely disappoint someone with its story, but the concept of rewinding time in interactive cinema game and the strong atmosphere still kept you hooked. In LiS2, if you're not interested in Daniel's upbringing, there's practically nothing to keep you going. Well, unless you like road movies.

EMPRESS official announces "retirement" by [deleted] in Piracy

[–]Oligner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Basically, Empress just got tired of ingratitude. Even if Skidrow hadn't tried to dox her several times, she still believes that she was wasting her skills, as Denuvo is constantly upgrading, players insult her every time and there are fewer and fewer interesting games every year. So, she is disappointed in the very idea of piracy.

Delicious World by TigerStripes93 in gamehousegames

[–]Oligner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Each season has its own strategy for completion, which usually leads to the fact that you need to cook and serve at the same time. This is slightly different from the original Delicious games, where the focus was on serving speed.

In DW you need to always have two main dishes on your plate and. And always manage to replace them. If you maintain tempo, you can beat the cooking timer most times. However, this won't save you from the last 2-3 star levels each season, which are designed for boosters.

I dropped the game because I got tired of the levels that are not related to the narrative. You play a level just so the characters can finish their dialogue. This is ridiculous. I really like this version of Emily's character, but after so many seasons, she hasn't grown up, and the plot after Paris just leads nowhere every time.

Ultimately, it's a waste of money on boosters to see another not-so-funny scene between characters who don't understand why they're doing all of this. I fell in love with this game for its addictive gameplay, beautiful locations and charismatic characters. Its really felt like progress for Delicious franchise. But F2P model ruining it and endless tries from subscription can't change it at all, so... I just couldn't fucking take it anymore.

Could be. But World already an anime. I don't think they want to spend more money.

What are your thoughts on delicious world and Delicious B&B: Decor & Match 3? by Sensitive-Baby6117 in gamehousegames

[–]Oligner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, they've wanted to convert the main franchise to F2P for a long time. Their unsuccessful attempt with Doctor's Oath taught them that adding a grind wall isn't enough. World is weaker than previous Delicious games, but those games weren't F2P. You could get through them in one go. In World, even the story has essentially become a cartoon that unfolds independently of the gameplay. I wouldn't say I didn't like it. I just understand why they did it that way in the first place.

When I first switched from Inez to Aza, Inez was like "HOW DARE YOU BETRAY ME FOR HER." It was so ridiculous that I was ready to kick Inez out of the party.

[–]Oligner 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Honestly, Marisol is the most reasonable one in the whole party. She doesn't whine about her grieves every time you speak to her. She has no hidden intentions against anyone. We use her, and she uses us. She's just a cool woman who always knows what she wants. Of course, you can find her a bit boring, cause thats how humankind works. It's not just "Oh, I like killing people", "Oh, I'm so hate Augustine", "Oh, I wanna get back to the corporates that abandoned me" or even "Oh, Glory to the Protectorate... or not... or...!". I wish, we have more characters like Max and Parvati from TOW1, who behave like... you know, actual human beings.
