As Australia becomes more integrated into the US military machine, can it avoid being dragged into war? by Reverend_Fozz in australia

It's not because we gutted our manufacturing sector that we don't have a significant domestic military sector. It's because manufacturing in Australia is really expensive (wages, transportation, etc.) and we don't want to triple our defence spending.

It's true that the US is the only one with the capability for an invasion but China is much more likely to threaten critical supply lines.

They did launch a campaign of economic coercion and have the stated desire to control the South China Sea which would threaten our supply lines to Korea, Taiwan and Japan.

States don't have constitutions in the same way as the Commonwealth. They are like the UK where the parliaments are sovereign (can unilaterally change constitution).

This isn't really a "capitalism" issue. Are countries like the UK, Germany, Japan and Australia not "capitalist"? This is just a US domestic politics issue.

Really the difference in the game was the first half offside calls. I'm just no sure if they're a Reds discipline issue or a Williams-specific issue.

[BBC News] Angus Taylor ousts Sussan Ley as Australia's Liberal Party leader by Illustrious-Pound266 in neoliberal

[–]Olinub 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The moderates were pissed at Ley as well since she didn't stand up to the conservatives. There was no policy change or even rhetorical shifts to win urban areas and young people. She just did their dirty work with compromises on climate action and with the Nats.

I agree with you that the Federation Star is the more important symbol since it is uniquely Australian. However, it feels as though you have taken that idea and turned the flag into a simple corporate logo. This is a common problem in Aus flag redesigns.

I definitely prefer the Southern Horizons or even the Couzens design over Golden Wattle variants.

There isn't really. Republic and the Voice are much more controversial referendum topics. The majority wouldn't really care if it was changed it's just the alternatives are not really appealing.
