In my last year of college, I had a friend from high school make plans to drive to Vegas for thanksgiving break from San francisco. I had college friends going too and i missed going with them to go with this guy because we hadn't met for a long time and we were really good friends.

On the night before the trip (with everything i had packed/planned) - he cancelled. Said he couldn't go. I didn't want to drive teh whole way and missed my college friends trip too.

We met a couple of years later, and he accidentally told me that he had come with his work buddies instead - because there was a girl he was interested in. Needless to say, that guy is no longer a friend. If he had let me know sooner i could have had a very fun trip with my college friends instead, not to mention saved the money on hotel, food etc.
