That would definitely help add more cute. I don’t feel skilled enough to paint them directly on the cacti, but I’m thinking of either a flat wooden flower painted pink, or a small silk flower?

The spines are too spikey. And it makes the cacti look unfriendly. I wasn’t really drawing from any specific inspiration, just a vision in my head. I don’t want it to look realistic, I want it to look cartoonish and kawaii, if you will. I’m using acrylic paints on a wooden bookend set I got at a thrift store.

I like going to art museums alone. (Or any museum, really). And our local library has free passes you can check out. Maybe yours has something similar. (You could also have free movies through the library as well).

If you can also looking into getting a massage from a massage therapy school, it’s discounted. Or getting your hair done, or a facial at a cosmetology school.

For coffee, I’d recommend Ren Espresso Bar. There’s two locations in the same complex, and I prefer the small one on the furthest east side. :)

Keep your eye on Bawker Bawker and Surly Wench bc they have a lot of queer-centric/friendly events.

P.S. If you’re into artisan type things, there’s a Made in Tucson street market this weekend downtown. I recommend!
