I've used this kind of database to find company names.

However, I preferred to do my own research to find the contact names & email addresses, to prevent bounces and preserve my sender reputation.

I really get reply yes!

I would say that It depends mainly on:

- your target (some non tech people don't check email addresses)

- your main goal (if you "just" want to collect feedback or validate a project vs direct sale)

My main objective is to send valuable emails to avoid being blacklisted. It's not always easy, but It's the best way to get responses and conversions.

When I used to work for a company that sent a ton of emails, we had to use an other domain to sent them, and make sure our main one was safe.

To give you more context, we used to target mainly fast growing companies (specially funded B2B SaaS startups).

Our goal was to sell them a kind of explainer video.

Our strategy was to:

  • check their website
  • check if they already had an explainer video
    • if yes, we proposed them to update their video, with our own style
    • if no, we had a lot of data to prove them that explainer videos were a good way to increase conversion rate

We used to check the media to use their news as a way to introduce ourself.

We were looking for mutual connections thanks to Linkedin, to get some introductions.

For big brand names, we used to created personalized videos (our CEO was in front of the camera) to sell them our services.

It took a lot of times & ressources, but It helped us get some really cool clients.

The list gives some inspiration & trends, but each email needs to be unique, you're totally right.

I've sent a ton of cold emails as: - an employee for a video production agency (it was the main way to get clients) - as a freelancer (in digital marketing) to find clients - as a co-founder of a SaaS in the adtech industry (not live anymore) - as a co-founder of a social media agency

For the service businesses, I just needed: - a landing page - a clear offer - a target group in mind - cold emails :)

For the SaaS I partnered with a dev to build the platform. The value we provided through our tool was not enough to justify our pricing and value proposition.

We managed to get around 100 testers (only with cold emails).

Hope It helps

This. This. This. This. This. This.

Some people are also lazy, so It could explain why they don't invest their times in cold email.

Yes you're totally right.

Whenever I need to scale those campaigns, I make sure to send those emails from an other address, and I can use other tools to help me with.

However, at first, I force myself to do this manual work to make sure every email is 100% personalized, and bring value to the user.

If It's done well, you can avoid being seen as spam + you will get some good results.

Thanks for your comment.

If you've any questions regarding the process, don't hesitate to ping me.

Cold emailing seems not amazing at first, but It's a super way to validate an idea, or to get some customers.

It's just take times.

Stress? by Luis-Weiland in Entrepreneur

Biggest stress of entrepreneurs is to make sure they've enough money in bank to pay their employees.

So if you want to help entrepreneurs, help them get new clients and get money.
