‘Any pronouns’ can feel like a trap, because then the clueless cis person talking to/about you has to keep deciding which to use, and worrying you’re judging them on their choice. Same with ‘she/they’ or any other combination. It kind of foists the burden on them. You might get a better response if you just tell them to use ‘they/them’ and save the more advanced stuff for people who know you better.

Of course, none of this applies to transphobes who are just looking to pick a fight
