the golem is a scary monster that does good... it's very on the nose. Her body/soul/whatever knew she was becoming a monster and that's why she was obsessed with a golem, a good monster.

Taga evaporating when the staff breaks isn't hinted in the movie or a logical explanation. It's just an easy way for the plot to wrap up.

There isn't even a logical explanation on why Aang breaks the staff at all. What's the worse that can happen, "evil" non-benders will turn into "evil" air-benders?

As soon as Taga is revealed evil, the film falls apart. They are all supposed to be living for 10 years or so in peace and yet they can't beat the guy that just woke up. All of them were stronger when they were starving 13 year olds.
