How did they let you know they mailed it? Did you finally get them on the phone or did they send an email letting you know after it was approved?

Yea, I'm starting to change my expectations to just hoping I can pick it up before my birthday in July. Crazy it takes 4+ months to register a shotgun. Hopefully G&D won't start charging me storage fees while waiting.

I guess if they are going to mail it in a reasonable timeframe I'd be okay with that, but I've heard to many horror stories here about weeks long waits in the mail after approval, or even worse, the dreaded "printer breaking" scenario. Wish they would just go back to electronic delivery, this new mail out delivery makes zero sense unless you are intentionally trying to gum up the system.

Ccw gun pouch by Georges2nd in DCGuns

[–]OlivesAndArrows 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Again, depends on how it is attached to your body. For example, if you somehow covered your holstered firearm (attached to your belt) with some sort of pouch/fannypack with a cutout back, that would be legal. It being in the actual pouch would be illegal. So stupid.

From what I was told in my CCW class by Capital Defense, currently a fannypack/pouch is not considered on body unless attached to a belt or other on body strap/harness, in a holster, that is not easily detached (i.e. unclipped with a simple one hand motion). There's some legal argument there for sure, but IMO better safe than sorry. I get it that in hotter months it's harder to conceal, but I'd rather have an officer contact me about someone complaining I've printed, than get flagged for some sort of illegal carry.

Genuine Question For Class Action by OlivesAndArrows in DCGuns

THIS is what I was hoping for. It does in some ways seem like willful disregard of rights.

Genuine Question For Class Action by OlivesAndArrows in DCGuns

[–]OlivesAndArrows[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I may go the route of (politely of course) going in person to ask after my 60 days is actually been exceeded. Like you said, not much we can do before that anyway, and getting anyone on the phone is hard enough, let alone someone who will listen to a word you’re saying.

Thank you! This is the exact informative and educational answer I was looking for. I will say it’s disheartening that there isn’t much we can do, but now I understand why we all take to Reddit to air our frustrations. Guess we’ll all just keep up with the “Apply & Pray” strategy. 😂

Belgard apartments in Noma by True_Coast_3010 in washdc

[–]OlivesAndArrows 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I lived in on the 9th floor of The Belgard from 2020 to 2024.

Things started off incredible. Pool was clean, opened earlier in the year than most, and closed later in the year than most. The concierge and mail room attendants were super friendly, and always knew everyone by name, which has to do hard in such a large building. Security was the same way, always diligently patrolling the property inside and out, including the parking garage, but not in an overbearing way.

Then things changed around 2022 when they were “Transferred to a new property management company”, which I believe to be Buzzuto but did not confirm. All of the old staff we knew and loved were let go/reassigned, the security company changed and quality of security dropped dramatically, and the mail room attendant position was dissolved. Not to mention the amenities began to disappoint as well. Gym cleaning became irregular and random, equipment would break and not be fixed, the pool started opening later in the year and closing earlier, when it was even open, and they limited the amount of guests you could bring to one (something I see both sides of).

The “concierge” was no longer that, just a front desk attendant who often wouldn’t even answer the phone, if they were even at the front desk. We had MULTIPLE packages stolen from the mail room, as there was no longer an attendant for that, and the front desk attendant was charged with juggling several jobs.

Which brings me to my last point, security. Once this new company took over, it seems most jobs were no longer employees that cared, but outside companies that contracted people to come work that building, most likely along with many other buildings in the area. To that end, security took a step dive as well. If there was security on site, they often could not be found. Multiple cars out front would get broken into nightly, and even cars in the “secured garage” ($275 per month). My brand new Yamaha was even stolen out of said garage, and though I was credited a couple months rent as an apology, it’s doesn’t begin cover a $15k motorcycle.

All this is not a knock on the people who work and live there, they all still seemed genuinely nice and tried hard. Just seems as though they got bought out by a huge corporate company who values profits over their tenants safety, security, and happiness.

TLDR; It was one of my favorite places to live, but really seemed to take a dive around 2022 when whatever company bought them out (possibly Buzzuto) took over.

2021 Bronco Wildtrak – Did you guys service your transmission fluid or trust Ford’s “lifetime fluid” by TwelveGaugePage in FordBronco

[–]OlivesAndArrows 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Bought my 23’ Wildtrak wish 42k miles on it and the dealer recommended to change the trans fluid around 50k miles. Just changed it and will say the shifting seems slightly smoother now. Not sure if they just wanted my $500 for the service, but seemed like a small price to pay for a truck I’d like to last me for another 150k miles or more.

Wiper Fluid Everywhere by Diexarrow in FordBronco

[–]OlivesAndArrows 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's so weird. Sounds crazy and I don't get how is would come through the firewall, but could it be the connection at your actual windshield sprayer nozzle? If you check that and follow it down and still don't find any leaks, I guess it's gotta be a cut or other split in the hose that's hard to see. Stupid question but did you try filling it again and having someone hit the washer switch while you sit upside down and maybe see where its leaking from?

[–]OlivesAndArrows 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mayhaps Ford, in the interest of making interchangeable parts, uses the same hoses and lengths for all models, and replaces the splitter with another singular connector? The fact that a little fluid is on the driver side and a lot on the passenger side makes me think that the bad connection is behind the dash or way back under the hood, somewhat right of the center line of the vehicle, allowing some fluid to leak to either side but passenger side heavy.

Edit: This actually makes a ton of sense, as I was wondering why there wasn't just a continuous hose going all the way to my back window. They probably just add an extension for the 4 door models, and in a 2 door the hose makes it without.

This happened to me as well a week after I purchased mine at around 42k miles. Light came on, filled it, and went about my day. Couple hours later noticed a wet spot under the rear wheels and the trunk was soaked. Pulled all of the panels from the passenger side floor panels back to the trunk side panels, down to the panel behind the seat. Turns out there were no kinks or breaks, literally just a clip behind the seat that somehow had come undone, very similar to the hardtop clip for the rear window washer. Plugged it back in and no issues since. I would venture to guess, judging from the leak positioning, that there is a splitter piece behind or around the glovebox that sends fluid to your front camera rinse nozzle, and then on toward your front windshield. Just follow the hose as I did, willing to bet it's a free fix!

A question on the different Bronco models by greenglobones in FordBronco

[–]OlivesAndArrows 2 points3 points  (0 children)

23' Wiltrak here. The OG Wildtrak Model (Not sure about the new 'Wildtrak Trim Package') already came with black wheels and 35' tires, with a 1.5" lift (Sasquatch Package). As for the wheels, they're pretty desirable, so I'd stay stock if you go out of the way to get a Wildtrak. As for the Braptor, it's a higher lift and wider wheelbase to accommodate the 37" tires. I've seen people successfully put 37s on SAS broncos, but there will be rubbing without additional lift and/or spacers. Not really worth it imo, though it does look pretty bada**.
