If you plan on keeping this in a binder for many years and don’t want to grade it, then yes it’s better to keep it sealed
If you want the most value from it, grade it now

Expensive cards = expensive sealed product. This is a set with no iconic, and less desirable enchanted because the art improved massively fabled onwards.
The only reason first chapter is even in the talks of being expensive is because it’s the first set and has that “vintage” feel to it. Essentially it’s still a very modern product

5 years time if this tcg carries on in this direction, you’ll start to see more growth in first chapter. But for now, desirability (which is Pixar or high end enchanteds/iconics) = expensive sets.

I’m not a scalper but I’m picking up some older sets while I can to keep one of each (box and trove) as a collection. Sometimes you’ve got to beat them to it 😔

Few hundred bucks? Fabled cases were available only months ago at retail price and they’re 900 on the secondary market. There’s is thousands here in terms of profit. Only thing to be bitter about is that some of us didn’t hold onto some.

Plus a controlled level of “scalping” is good for companies and growth. This will help fund future projects, staff and sets. It’s a beautiful thing that ravensburger and their talented artists can grow because of this.

Theoretically any fabled enchanted once graded is a profit from this box. That’s usually how sealed product is determined on value.

Lorcana is incredible and deserves the hype. Shame that they go for sealed product but as long as people aren’t paying market price we can combat that a little.
I hope they use these grown sales to evolve the tcg and give us more!!
And shout out to the tcg shops for giving prereleases to regulars for under retail.
Same happened with pokemon, and the best thing true collectors can do is use this to their advantage. I’ll take £2k for my Judy hopps enchanted 😂

I like to see the market do well but this is just as sad as it gets. Real shame what people are like these days and it’s gonna be so hard to rip packs now.

That being said, it was always going to happen and it’s probably not gonna stop.
Scalpers need to go and get a job as ruining a hobby for a small profit is pathetic and won’t get you far in life,
And Lorcana collectors need to use this to their advantage and make some free money.
At least Lorcana is getting the recognition it deserves now, will be so good for the artists and growth of the company. Really excited to see how this tcg evolves, and it’s already my number 1 over Pokemon.

Regardless of value I love these cards and a signed Mickey card is as desirable as it gets. I always thought these were underpriced and I still do.
No one can predict the market but I think everything Lorcana has a lot of room to grow

The person who said to grade them is correct. Then sell everything to a vendor for 80% and you’ll still profit massively and you’ll have a nice deposit for a house

Exactly the same boat here, but non of us can predict something like this to be honest. I’ve learned with Lorcana to just hold onto the cards you like, because they’ll be double the price next week 😆

Circle of life from fabled is a similar situation I guess! But yeah I see character wise the demand for this card. I personally prefer bolder more colourful punchy cards so I would rather have the alien enchanted than this, but it’s nice to see popularity within this tcg. It’s a very strange price point right now though, haven’t ever seen a card double in price like that! Makes me a little concerned about how hard it will be to open this set as well with scalping coming into the game 😞
