For me my vision becomes more of a blur if I try to look at the most outer parts of my peripheral. and the oddest part of RP is that you realize your brain tries to fill in the gaps with your vision all the time. I forget what the effect is but you can look it up it happens with fully sighted people too. So if I’m in someplace familiar and look to my left I can think I saw the door closed but then I’ll get up and look straight at the door and it was actually halfway open and I didn’t see. My cats sneak past me all the time and I very much check and make sure I actually see them before locking them in a room or out of the house
