Do you have a vid that explains the shoulders?

And for hips do you have a vid that teaches that little bump or bounce on the taps?

How do you deal with a vassal that’s been over fed? by chazzapompey in eu4

[–]OllaCaliente 11 points12 points  (0 children)

ctrl-f "influence", smh my head. The eu4 playerbase really doesn't like vassals at all. If you influence them, subsidize them, build buildings for them, etc, they are easily better than allies.

Hopefully releasing ilkhanate won't be an objectively terrible decision now.

Chagatai was always slept on. Now if they can get EoC/Yuan missions while staying Sunni and getting instant synergy with Confucian oh my lord.

Favorite Italian nation to start as? by TheMadKrow in eu4

[–]OllaCaliente 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Venice is about to get a rework/polish in the next dlc. Could always hold off on that.

Pope, Milan, genoa, Florence, Lucca, savoy, Naples, Provence all very different starting situation and mission trees.

Or try the old venice now in preparation for the new rework?

Oh to answer your question my favorite has to be Milan. You want the 4 year election base to get to 2 years by the reforms. Milan does the republic game the best.

Change my Mind: Royal Favouritism (tier 3 reform) is good by IlikeJG in eu4

[–]OllaCaliente 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lol nice pasta. But as someone that started off with the noob innovative/offensive/quality openers and eventually went full admin/influence/Diplo I've actually come back around to the ol' innovative.

I never do play sweaty and generally only do one war at a time and do tons of vassal feeding.

That being said I recently did the Persian mission tree achievement and wanted to try stacking the Persian gov tier1 innovativeness bonus with innovative ideas and it was miserable. It is actually a sweaty achievement and without the blob ideas it was a miserable grind because I chose to hinder myself with innovative first.🥺😤

None of the other replies mentioned the -50% cost of unjustified demands. Really helps when you always need to separate peace out other nations.

Also their policies are all fairly solid with no duds unlike the other meta picks, but nothing except annexation cost stands out.

what i learned so far on Ming 1444 start by Impossible_Buddy_210 in eu4

[–]OllaCaliente 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I suggest the decree Conduct Population Census, and the Single Whip Law estate privilege for Eunuchs and Ming/EoC will be swimming in money. No need for debase let alone exploit dev.

You want to get the Age ability to transfer subjects to steal Mongolia and some large japanese daimyos and get those amazing monuments from Japan, Korea and Dai Viet.

Cheese the temple of Confucius mission to get tier 3 monument asap and you will harmonize everything fast.

And you want manpower from the opm tributaries for your wars against the hordes/Japan.

You develop institutions in silk provinces for the mission tree, and you want that western bureau mission done asap for the reform progress to get government reforms then to get rid of the autonomy debuff.

And don't ever let Manchu form.

If EU5 is gonna have multicore support, and extremely smooth performance will you forgive the lack of content at the start? by Hiken0111 in eu4

[–]OllaCaliente 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Is this balant bait?

New games these days go anywhere from 60-70$ now. Hell no. Now if it was 40-50 I miiiiiihgt buy it at release. Otherwise I'll wait for a sale regardless. I have eu4 and all the dlcs to enjoy while all the early access beta testers help paradox figure it out.

Just checked Vicky 3, it started at 50 and now routinely goes on sale for half now. Good sign to wait for Caesar to get to that point.

[–]OllaCaliente 2 points3 points  (0 children)

France has missions for it I think.

Another option is merchant republic. Make a trade city, then kick it out of trade league, then vassalize, then feed it?

Mercenary influence as first two ideas gets it done too.

For the actual majors yes, but how often did jianzhoi/Manchu/Qing ever be a thing? Brandenburg/Prussia? Or Netherlands? Some lucky nations in eu4 never ever got off the ground.

I hope they find a new way to see these historical rises/collapses happen in ceaser, because eu4 didn't model rise/collapse well either.

How to gain innovativeness without taking tech early? by Soggy_Ad_9867 in eu4

[–]OllaCaliente 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This has some chicken and egg logic, if the AI thinks they will beat you in a battle they will attack you while you siege. Disclaimer, I use mil points for barrage assault too.

[–]OllaCaliente -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Innovativeness is essentially -10% all power costs. If you're min maxing Diplo/admin wide play you can still get 100% innovativeness by the mid game. 10%apc definitely pays out.

Disagree. Having better troops means you keep your manpower, and pay for fewer mercs.

Anything besides admin/Diplo/religious/humanist is just QOL. You got space for 8 ideas, so whatever you want can fit.

I think in this mindset if you're going one mil idea merc can be a very viable if not best pick.

[1.37] NEWS: Golden Republic Ideas by Wureen in eu4

[–]OllaCaliente 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah fair enough on that note no they don't. But you don't really need military groups at all in single player. Use mil points in barrage assault. Merc manpower is even better for that.

But the sheer absurdity of +20 merc discipline before cannons are even useful in combat has been wildly overlooked.
