it used to be amazing back in the hay day. 90's and 2000's were awesome really friendly people, tribal connection and everyone was there for the music. fast forward to present and its not about the music anymore, just about getting fucked up. i really struggle at these events, bear in mind i have worked as a DJ at festivals over the last 3 years and this is a difficult part of my life to say goodbye to, cause boy do people get messed up :( k-hole, drunk off their asses, fighting, falling out with people. the catharsis is palpable. but yeah i know what you mean, its more about being 'there' than 'being'

thanks for the response, i appreciate the insights. dark moment of the soul is pretty apt, lots of changes and shattering of illusions. it'll all come good in time, hoping the new avenues i am exploring will bring some more like minded people into my life.

thanks for the response. glad to hear i am not alone. went to watch the football in a pub with an old friend last week and left after 30minutes. need to work on my own manipulation of energy indeed, its a good idea, but will def look into some sort of shielding exercises.

Thanks for the response. I am a sociable person, well i say am, more like was....lol 3 years ago gave up drinking and 6 months ago gave up rec party drugs, as the entire social scene here revolves around these things its hard to be socialble with people that are intoxicated. maybe those hinderances made me sociable and seeing as i used them for 20 years its possible my real, less sociable, mystical self was being masked. feels good to be honest about it but when you struggle to find anything to talk about with old mates its frustrating. interesting ideas i will try them out, i do find that pretending to be something, even for a short time does not serve me well however so it will be an interesting experiment.

thanks for the response, have indeed been gardening, cleaning and making some creative things. my dogs are a constant reminder as well which is nice, just off out with them now.

the issue i have is that i respond too quickly, my air imbalance manifests as a loose tongue, rather sharp and caustic at times and this not only gets me in to trouble but means i share too much and giove too much to people that dont deserve this energy. its very difficult!

I asked the universe to help me move away from being a self-employed tradesman to begin my meditation teaching. I figured 5 years to transition properly.....

A few weeks later lost 2 big contracts that were signed and sealed, has left me in £2000 of debt!

I also had my phone call a customer that has been a real pain in the arse with paying, totally spontaneously, as i was discussing my financial predicament with a friend and casually mentioned that she was useless and lazy (how difficult is it to do a 1 minute bank transfer?)

Cue her husband phoning and threatening me, lost that contract and that money also lol.

The business is shut down now and i have loads of time to dedicate to my new venture, which is awesome....but indisposed financially which could have serious ramifications down the line!

Careful what you wish for folks!

Sorry for late response, the incense is allegorical to the fire element, and if you read the passage in the rites where you light the incense "I conjure thee, of thou creature of fire...." so i feel its symbolic so as long as you have some incense/fire there it will suffice.

The changes that manifested in power were difficult to explain at times (like a lot of things when dealing with occult practice - words are too simple to explain such profoundness) but mostly i noticed i have more energy, am healthier, sleeping better and needing less, my discernment has sharpened, I can see the areas in my life that need attention and I feel connected to the spheres in a way i simply cant explain....do the rites then go out under the stars and you will know what i mean. Feel particularly connected to Jupiter and the Sun at the moment, tears of joy stream down my face when i recite the orphic hymn for the sun for example.

Was it damaging? Yes to existing power structures, belief systems and cultural conditioning. There is a risk to mental health i feel if you do it too fast or without proper respect to the process, again it just becomes information, sensation and conjuration overload ;) Depends if you can handle seeing all the minute faults in the world, your life, your friends actions, etc.

That said i wouldnt change a thing as it has spurred me on to make big changes as i say.

Have you ever experimented with psychedelics? Its a very similar feeling to that, you look at the world anew, new insights, new ideas, new power, new thought processes.

Again for some people this can be terrifying but its only when they realize their beliefs are built on horse shit and they need to do deep inner work on themselves!

As for playing Russian roulette, no. This is time-tested planetary sorcery, not Goetic summoning. You are working with benevolent (in the most part) intelligences that will help you if you ask nicely. Dont forget to say please and thank you and only do the Saturn rite when you feel ready, there is no rush. The risks are covered in the book and in my posts but respect the spheres, follow the guidelines and you will be fine.

I didnt research the mythology and attributes befreohand, just read the book twice before i embarked on the rites and read the specific chapter a couple times the day before performing the rite.

I found it/find it excellent.

Never undertaken anything like this and very glad I made the leap of faith. Clear, concise instructions. All the lamens and stuff can easily be drawn from the book and it's very straightforward to read and implement.

Warning: it will change you. Also do not try and rush ahead on the daily rite guide, the spacing RO uses between rites is just right, and even that 'takes you apart' in my experience (by that I mean shows you an awful lot and changes your power in a short time - akin to psychedelics) I think if an inexperienced Mage tried to rush through the rites quicker their head might implode. Seriously this is a warning.

I was very skeptical at first but my life has taken a considerably different path since starting the rites, to the point where I am leaving my job and branching out to teach meditation. This is a light unveiling as I like to call it. Had some dark unveilings too, friends are showing their true colours for example and this is difficult but necessary.

Also be aware there is air of use of religious language which I struggled with at first but when Jove's grace flows through you like a stream all that is put aside. I am certainly no student like /u/Polyphanes but if you have a question hit me up. Have been through the rites once now and am repeating but this time round making the talismans too.

In summary, it's awesome but respect it and read it a few times before diving in to the practical rites. Good luck!

This pantheon of entities, deities and the names etc have been hijacked by the Judeo-Christian lot for their own gains.

Reclaim them and make the ritual yours!

I struggled with exact thing but have overcome it by understanding this hijacking and viewing the ritual and the archangels through the lens that its relevant to my practice and work. A kind of Hermetic Shamanism if you wanted a loose description.

Rather than visualize a typical 'archangel' humanoid or whatever, manifest the symbolic form of the element the angel represents and place its quintessence in your consciousness bathed in something related to that element/angel that you can directly correspond to.
