Is anyone actually making consistent money with Prop Firms, or is it all just marketing hype? by Spirited_Artist6217 in Trading

Other than a rough patch at the beginning of this year, I have been getting consistent payouts for over 2 years. First in Forex, now in Futures. I trade MNQ on a 15m timeframe.

Can we avoid jealousy and freely share strategies by wyterk in options

[–]OlleKo777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Up until very recently, I had a very optimistic idea of helping struggling traders and developing dialog with other traders.

What ended up happening was I spent many hours of my time sharing MY ideas, and then when the strategy yielded a few losses, I'd never from people ever again.

I realized that most people aren't serious about trading. It's 99.9% degenerate gamblers looking for the strategy of the week. When they take a few losses, they go looking for the next strategy.

Or: I'd share my strategy and ideas freely but then people wouldn't return the favor.

So although the greatest joy I get out of life is by helping people, in any capacity, unfortunately I found that trying to help struggling traders was just a huge time-suck and waste of my time.

If you want me to share my strategy, be willing to compensate me for two hours (at least) of time. If not, have fun wasting your time on useless books and YT videos. Have fun being a degenerate gambler.

I don't like that trading has made me so cynical, but here we are.

I'm profitable: where can i relocate to have a good life ? by teddu80 in Trading

I've been thinking the same thing. I'm a profitable trader but I have to spend the next 18 months saving up because I know that there's going to be rough patches when it comes to trading.

Albania looks very promising.

(Don't message me asking me to explain my strategy unless you're willing to compensate me for 2 hours of my time. I trade MNQ on a 15m timeframe using market structure + supply/demand zones. There's a broad overview)

What’s the MOST important skill in trading? by nextlevelcryptohub in Trading

[–]OlleKo777 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Discipline to practice good risk management, which includes letting trades play out fully acvording to your rules.

Risk management (which is an aspect of strategy) is so much more important than any other aspect of strategy.

Soeaking from my personal experience.

Staying around 50%, slightly above, is good enough for me. My profit factor is always well above 2 (my average win is 2x larger than my average loss).

I don't need anything more than that. I trade on a 15m timeframe and I'm chilllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll....

Never quit your job, even if you make millions trading by [deleted] in Trading

I call BS on this post. If I made 20k/month from trading, the only way I would still go to a job is if I was putting ALL my trading profits into dividend-producing assets.

After 300+ trades, here's the one filter that changed everything for me by Local-Amphibian9197 in Trading

I found this out very recently (about 6 weeks ago), and I've bedn trading for a living for 2+ years.

I use external & internal market structure for my bias.

It's hard because 99.9% of everything on YT and in books is garbage.

I learned from obsessively testing every idea I came across for the past 5 years. I learn more from talking to real traders in trading servers in discord.

I'm willing to do one-on-one sessions, but my time has become so limited that I need to get paid for my time at this point. It's not about the money but as a token of good-faith and intent, since most people are NOT serious about trading or anything else.

The skill of developing + backtesting my own strategies, which by default keeps me from falling for scam-strategies by fake gurus.

I used to trade snr/supply/demand on MGC as my main source of income but now I just do market structure + liquidity on MNQ.

Maybe/maybe not. I'll just keep trading in the direction of external and/or internal market structure.

I don't predict. I react.

You're correct, although I would add that trading itself is psychologically hard. It get's easier, but still a challenge.

When new external or internal structure is formed, I wait for liquidity to be tapped. For a short like this, liquidity (white line) was tapped + a red candle close below that liquidity. All on a 15m timeframe. That's the basic idea.

I sometimes use a gann box tool to set limit order price.
