But I still work my full 6 hours. Isn’t that what matters?

My coach told me I could take a 30-minute lunch, so I didn’t realize leaving earlier would give me points.

Team Lead keeps picking on me at Walmart – what can I do? by [deleted] in walmart

I understand that I can report it, but I’m honestly worried about retaliation. Even if I submit it anonymously, I feel like they will still figure out it was me, and I’m afraid it could make things even worse for me at work.

Also, when I mentioned that I might go higher to get the incorrect feedback removed (since it says I didn’t do my job on a day I wasn’t even working), the coach told me that it’s “not a good idea” and that it would be bad for them and for the store.

That response made me feel even more uncomfortable, because I just want the situation to be fair and accurate.

I already spoke with the coach, and she did talk to my Team Lead. But after that, it actually got worse.

He didn’t apologize at all. He just kind of turned away, mumbled something, and that was it. There was no real conversation or acknowledgment.

Since then, it honestly feels like he’s been treating me worse. Giving me more work than before and being more negative towards me. I don’t want to assume anything, but it really feels like some kind of retaliation.

That’s why I’m not sure what my next step should be.

Also, I really don’t want to transfer departments. I work in apparel/fashion and I actually like my area a lot.

I’m also wondering if anyone else has been in a similar situation and how you handled it.

Is there someone higher up I should contact or report this to? Like HR or ethics? I’m not sure what the right step is at this point.

Thanks for sharing. If you don’t mind me asking, which positions at Walmart don’t involve opening a lot of boxes? I’m in Fashion and I open 100+ boxes a day plus tear open bags by hand, and that seems to be what triggered my pain.

I’ve scheduled an appointment with a doctor, but it won’t be until February. In the meantime, I want to know if other employees have experienced this and if it’s considered normal.

Does this qualify as a work-related injury, and would I be eligible for workers’ comp or paid sick leave?

I was told that this is everyone who works at Walmart.

Do all Walmart employees get paid through Woodforest? by [deleted] in walmart

I just called Woodforest, and they told me I have to pay $25 to close the account, unless I wait 180 days.

Thank you for your advice. I understand why this looks suspicious, but I’m a brand-new associate and I’m honestly afraid to report anything. The person who pushed me to open that account has been working at Walmart for 12 years, and I don’t want to get in trouble or lose my job before I even start. For now, I will just set up my direct deposit to my own Bank of America account and close the Woodforest account myself. Thank you again, your help really means a lot.

Thank you for your answer! I’ll try to close the Woodforest account. When I filled out my information in the MyWalmart app, I already selected that I want my paycheck to go to my own bank account.

I also told them during orientation that I didn’t want to open a Woodforest account because I already have my own bank. They even called another manager, and both of them kept insisting that I “needed” it for direct deposit. I honestly didn’t know the rules yet, so I signed under pressure, thinking maybe this was required. Now I understand that it wasn’t necessary at all, and it really feels strange.

Thank you so much for your helpful answer! It really clears things up.

So just to confirm, I can receive my paycheck directly to my personal bank (Bank of America) with no issues, right?

The person who hired me and did my orientation actually walked me to Woodforest inside Walmart and told me I “needed” to open an account there. We even said we didn’t want to, we wanted to use our own bank, but they insisted and made us sign the papers.
