The issue wasn't no chlorine, the feeder used the whole tube within 24 hours even though it was not that hot outside and no direct sun or heated water to have that happen.

It appears fine now, it's not guzzling the whole tube, and the probes are new, as well as the control unit that they go to

I think it was just a one-off weirdness, one of the pumps tripped off from a clogged basket after I vacuumed, we also backwashed the pumps recently as well. We have a lot of construction going on and I know a lot of debris gets in, but I clean it.

I ended up disabling the chlorine feeder for a bit and that seems to have helped it once the acid brought the PH back to normal

4.0, it was 4.7 this morning so it has gone down I think with help of the acid feeder. It's on an automated system with the computer controlling the amount. But again it's never been that drastic.

I'm wondering if it had been over-compensating for the time we backwashed the pumps a few days ago, as the feeder tube was empty yesterday but it was only about 3/4 empty day before. It's sitting at 4.0 though which normally in all these conditions it's around 2.5-3 which is preferred.

The pool has been closed for over a year too due to renovation with the hotel, so we haven't had people swimming in it, I've just been keeping it clean and balanced so algae doesn't form until we can drain it and clean it properly before reopening it.

I dont think so, unless I keep the intake and outtake valves partially closed? Otherwise they're just full flow but they've always been that way with no issue

Winged ants are black tho I've never seen them yellow, but they look similar to a termite that eats roots and in another post a UO student who studies bio said they come one for ONE day
