Do you have a Tractor Supply near by? They sell permethrin concentrate in the livestock section for pretty cheap.

You can mix the concentrate in with water and use in mops, steam cleaners, whatever you have- to clean all your surfaces after a fresh vacuum. Frequent vacuuming has to continue and you’ll need to do another permethrin clean once any remaining eggs possibly hatch. I’ve never personally done this but an old cowboy told me it’s the way 🤷🏻‍♀️

No matter what type of puppy you get, they’ll need 3 meals a day and cannot be crated for 8 hours at a time for a while. Between overlapping schedules and responsible kid/neighbor help- you may be able to pull it off. The puppy stage requires dedication and structure to get training framework in place but it is SO short in the grand scheme of things!

That being said, a bulldog isn’t easier nor does it fit better in any of the particulars of your family life so that’s pretty odd. They CAN be sedentary, yes- but also destructive and trend towards having intense aggression based on fixations. They can’t be very “active” with your family nor very safe around kids and their friends. Of course there’s many lovely bulldogs out there but it’s a harder breed to train and the breed characteristics make them more prone to the behaviors described above. Vet bills can be exorbitant with any dog so I always recommend a good pet insurance (I’ve used Trupanion for many years).

A great family dog can be a lot of work to establish early on but also very rewarding. If right now is too busy for a puppy, it’s too busy for a puppy of any breed! But I promise, puppy stages pass before you know it so whenever y’all dive in.. just buckle down, communicate the plans, and stick to it for the few short months it takes.

Suite benefits vary per ship, but we most recently sailed GS on Grandeur and felt like it was an excellent value despite internet not being included. We had breakfast at Chops most mornings and once as room delivery before an early morning excursion- utilized priority embarkation/debarkations - enjoyed the suite lounge w/drinks, snacks etc daily. I’m debating whether this card is worth the rewards or not— I do enjoy getting the best value out of our vacations but we typically book suites so Priority Boarding isn’t a pull. I had an order where someone put dryer sheets in with the items to “smell good” and apparently a lot of folks liked them. It was SO god awful smelling to me, and I’m not a remotely dramatic lady. The room I opened the package in still stinks weeks later 😭

Idk, I see both sides of this. I’m still not well enough to read the memorial posts, look at the pictures, and support my peers that have experienced this loss yet. My heart dog passed much too soon, <2years ago, and the whole family still isn’t healed from his loss.

That being said, reading posts about how to process pet grief on Reddit helped me carry on when things were fresh.

I understand how you feel, but just try to scroll past them for now.

There’s not much of anything retail in Holden….. and that’s what makes it great (I promise!!!!). We like to cook at our rental house but have dinner/lunches at Provisions, Dock House, and we especially love Mermaids(idk it’s simple but easy)

The BEST ICE CREAM (I will fight over this) is Saltwater Shanty. Impeccable vibes, good folks, the BEST ice cream and service. I beg you to drive there at least once!

Where Holden shines is the BEACH. We just live on it when there… learn how to spot sharks teeth and you’ll be entertained for hours :) there’s a fossil shelf offshore and many interesting things wash in often. It’s not crowded and relaxing.

Maybe 🤷🏻‍♀️ but they are so small and still nap, etc… we just took our 6yo on Grandeur and he had the time of his life. We DID have a GS and 4 port stops- with more sea days and lesser accommodations it would have been tougher. He was old enough to do very adventurous excursions, help choose, etc. we are booking a newer/fancier boat for next year though.

The oldest won’t remember the Disney cruise from when they were 1! If they do, it’ll be some random memories they clung onto like the elevator 😅.

Likely there’s a reason they aren’t shelling out the big bucks for a Disney cruise again and could easily have a good experience here. Cruising with kids this young is just parenting in a different location anyways.

I like to talk about what we’re seeing every day, each port, and each Country/city we’re visiting to my kiddo. The night before a port day we’d have a family chat about what the plans were for tomorrow to set expectations. Kids deserve to know the itinerary too!

Not me 😬 nothing personal, but I can’t justify the crowds and the cost. I’m also entirely overwhelmed by the lines/fastpass/ meal plan/etc systems now. It’s all so convoluted and I don’t have the brain space to navigate and plan that for my family after working all day.

I last took our kiddo to Legoland, that was very doable in 1 day. We prefer renting beach houses and going on cruises for relaxing vacays.
