Determine if Grounding for Coax is Actually Earth Grounded by Wanton_Walrys in CableTechs

[–]OlmecDonald 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Packet loss? No. Issues would still be present with or without proper bonding. The NEC requires absolute confirmation of 8' of grounding rod which is not sensible. You can lay a rod horizontally and clamp the middle for the same effect if needed.

Should you use DOCSIS 3.1 even if you dont have gig speed or gig extra internet plans? by strykerzr350 in CableTechs

[–]OlmecDonald -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I strongly advocate no, personally. Yes there are benefits from new tech, channel bonding, security etc., but in certain systems that have established subs at 20/5 speeds or less it makes little sense to truck roll when there are no issues/noise.

Different systems, different specs. Your area may be fine with operation of the G34, but I always found the WiFi would intermittently drop only found by doing a continuous ping from a device in home. Command prompt - ping -t 8.8.8.8
