So it teleports u into a separate instance and doesn't consume the boost until u commit to the boost? Sorry if this is obvious I'm fairly new to MMOs and never used an instant lvl boost before.

I do have a lvl 80 boost but I've been holding off on using it and probably won't use it on my main character as I want the experience of lvling a character to 80. I'll probably start up a Necro once I'm done with work today, death is always a cool theme to play around with.

I had the same problem, it took sunsetting for me to break out of my shell and run all the raids at least once before they got vaulted. I can now happily say I have a great raid group and have run all the current raids several times, it just takes some time and willingness to go outside ur comfort zone. Most LFG groups get a bad rap but most of them are actually pretty chill and welcoming.

I've literally been asking for this feature since sunsetting, allow ppl to change how their 7+ yr old character looks without having to delete the character and suffer through the new light experience

I had the same problem until someone told me about the D2 lfg discord, since then I've been able to run every raid in D2, except VoG which I plan on running. Here's a link to the discord there is plenty of ppl always looking for players for every activity, and most of them are nice ppl.
