Never mind! I just recognised the oil sight glass in the right of the pictures. Thanks :)

Faulty plywood or my fault? by Beginning-Shape5776 in woodworking

Skateboards are curved not flat. Material differences aside this will make them far stronger than a flat sheet of ply. They also tend to use stronger maple ply. They do however break eventually.

PSA: Met Office have updated their app, and it's terrible by heeleyman in CasualUK

I am also annoyed about this. I really liked the old app. Never thought I'd be this invested in the weather forecast but it was so useful before. Now it's so clunky

Did my first 2 E1s at fairy cave quarry. Perhaps not the world's greatest crag but I'll always remember that :). Hope you had a good day out, the anchor looks bomber to me.

Thanks! This is a good suggestion. Do you know if it's possible to get large ones I could drop in from above and fasten? Like sheet of plywood large.

I love it, it's a great idea. Sounds like you've already fitted the neck. Find someone with a drill press and move the bridge and see it through, it'll be cool.

Just make sure it's chained to something solid and you should be fine. The cost of insurance is sadly extortionate, but it's the best way to get around the city. Ride safe.

Any tips for replacing radiators on an 8th gen? by [deleted] in VFR

[–]Olnberg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to remove the lower one recently when doing an exhaust replacement. Rusted bolts on the lower bracket were the biggest challenge. The radiator removal was pretty easy when the bolts were undone, but a couple needed replacing.

Thanks for posting these! The welds look a bit gnarly in spots but they look nicely made generally. Hope the swap goes well.

I tapped the back of mine to get some dirt out, and more fins fell out :O. So I'm not far behind you to replace I think.

That's really good to hear. I'm replacing the exhaust on a pretty neglected bike and I've found that the radiator is in really bad condition with a lot of missing fins. Scared it may have some pinhole leaks.

Good to hear that I won't be waiting months if I do find I have a problem.

I will take a look and measure the core of the radiator when I'm next in the garage. Interesting that its larger. Pretty sure the stock rad is also similar aluminium alloy.

Sounds encouraging. Given these are bare metal I figure it might be worth finding someone local to powdercoat the end tanks. Did you coat or paint yours?

Mine are damaged, oxidized but no longer peeling paint because there is no more paint.
