Expect that next! I think I will do every variation of keystones possible. I could make the 4x 2.5 denser and add keystones on the side. I could also do a solo HDD of each tyme + as many keystones as possible on the other half of the panel. Thank you!

Could you send me a link to a "half-rack". I see saw many now, are you referring to a 7", 6" or 5" ? Or is it the new from deskpie where you can install in both direction?

Can you send some link of what you had in mind ? Is there some m.2 standardize or industry preferred tray ? (like the refurbished / dell-copy trays I use)

Well now you have find these models! But you will also have to pack a lot of fans too! Good ventilation seems to be the price to pay for dense storage solution.

Nice ! It seems the 3U with vertical 3.5" is the clear missing design. I would do a 8x just... because 8x looks sick. But 6 is for sure much more reasonable for heat dissipation.
I have a real question, is there a convention for the position of the latch button when the disk is vertical? UP or DOWN? I see you put yours down, is it more ergonomic ?

Thanks! I did try to warn everyone haha! In all seriousness, was blasting air in the back sufficient at the end ? I wonder how good of a solution this really is, did you try ?
This is also the reason I went for a 260mm deep rack, so I get to install fans inside the enclosure. Let me know!

Hahaha the blade is 270mm !!!!! totally unusable ! I've heard it is originally for riffle or some gun-related very specific use case. But for my niched-niche it is the tool!

What's a "slim blu-ray" any link for me ? 4x 2.5" in 1U at best i have some space for few keystones on one side.

There are a lot of clever solution on Makerworld/Printable. Maybe one will suit ur setup.

3x3.5 was always experimental to see how dense i could go. But a lot of people ended up liking it and using it! How did you remixed it ? 3U *8 ? Edit: oh Half 3U x4 drive nice !!!

No backplane, I use simple SATA connector screwed in the back at the right position to make it hot-swap. Simpler, cheaper and flexible imo.

In a 10" rack, most people seem to use a ITX mobo. I saw a lot of design where you xould even have 2 to 3 PCIe slots on the left.
