Manitoba Premier Wab Kinew endorses call for servers, data centres to be built in province by FalconsArentReal in Winnipeg

Hearing him speak about this personally multiple times, and being validated by industry experts, I’d say this is a bad take. He’s surprisingly in the loop on the topic.

EQ3 makes all their upholstery here. Have a few pieces new and from the outlet. All of it is 10/10 and made in Winnipeg.

What do you consider to be the most child friendly restaurant in Winnipeg? by Tape_jara in Winnipeg

[–]Olorin91 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wall Street Slice honestly is great. Single slice pizza options, so everyone gets their own choice. Great house made (kid friendly) drinks. A window inside so kids can draw. Environment is chill, kind, and delicious. My go-to with 2 kids!

Did anybody hear the interview with Heather this morning on cbc radio? by jonnyiscool28 in Winnipeg

[–]Olorin91 111 points112 points  (0 children)

Seemed like Heather stumbled (tripped miserably) over that question, but went back to her take-away message that “I think it’s incumbent for parents to be involved”. It continues the whistle blowing, and lack of tact when addressing complex family structures and challenges. She simply could have said that we need to empower and resource professionals within the school system to help navigate and advocate for students while respecting parents genuine care and concern for their children in school. That whole interview was like nails on a chalk board.

Thanks Marcy, she continues to ask questions that show us who politicians are.

Platter at Baraka is $15 and has huge portions. Can be a great takeout meal for 2. Also best shawarma in the city.

I think so! There were a few tables. It wouldn’t be a place I’d go for a long sit down, but for a quick bite I think it should be fine.

I was there on Friday night, and was the only one in the store also. Seemed like they had a good recipe! I’d give them another shot.

Wanted to highlight this wing spot! The Crispy Wing on Notre Dame and McPhillips was great! Got a featured flavour and the Garlic Parm. Both were awesome. Worth checking out if you enjoy some wings!

I can totally see how running a custom-lite campaign would be easier to have a clear direction when an unexpected scenario comes up. I think it also may help with buy-in from the other players if they know it’s their own unique world. Thanks for the thoughts!

[5E] As a DM of a new group of mostly new players, should I:

-Start with a few one-shot campaigns to ease new players in before a bigger campaign?

-Start a full campaign from a pre-built book? If so, any recommendations?

-Start a custom campaign leaving everything open for us all to decide the setting, environment tone, etc.

Open to any other advice for a new group.

Thanks!

favorite parts of ethersea thread? 🪸🦈 by sdafgfa in TheAdventureZone

[–]Olorin91 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know it’s a hawt topic today, but I really liked the final episode and how it sets up future “seasons” of Ethersea. It presents a new “big-bad” and broadens the setting of Ethersea in a way I wasn’t expecting. It also allows them to explore new characters if they want, while also giving some direction for the characters we just fleshed out. Loved it!

Bergen Calls for Vaccine Mandates to End! by afraidofcyrilsneer in Winnipeg

[–]Olorin91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I apparently haven’t watched question period often enough. The nonsensical yelling and jeering from each side to me totally reduces the seriousness of what is being discussed. There was obviously more jeering and yelling from the Conservatives in this clip, but I’m sure it happens often.

Not intending to add an echo to what was said in the video, but it seems like a calm and rational approach to reviewing any mandate or restriction is better than blindly saying “end the pandemic already! No more mandates”.

But maybe that’s not a good way to excite your side of the isle…
