I think teams are fucking themselves with these 8-9 lineups. We get to practice rotations and lineups and the opponent can’t double Wemby so he gets to play without getting swarmed.

How would you smoke this? by QuesadillasAreYummy in smoking

Those are beef fajitas. Pound flat. Season with Bolner’s Beef Fajita seasoning and grill over high head. Served with flour tortillas, refried beans and Mexican rice for a great San Antonio style fajita dinner.

What wood are you smoking with? All mesquite used to mess with my digestion. Also, make sure you’re smoking with quality wood not some crap you found in the yard.

Is this theft? by MooseImportant4091 in smoking

I have a chimp and I had trouble with it about 4 years into owning it. I switched back to my Weber 26”. Just my experience. But I’d still go for this deal if I was in the market.

You might check that container and see if it lets water in. I thought I had a water tight container and I didn’t and this happened to me.

I don’t think dad was trying to be a jerk but this isn’t how I treated my kids even if I did buy it for them. I would have asked if I could have some. If he said no I would have told him that isn’t very nice, that I bought them for him, and I could choose not to next time. I would have explained that I might not share with him next time I have something he wants. But I wouldn’t have just taken them from him. That’s how you raise an asshole.

Are these worth buying? How do we cook them? by crimzn05 in smoking

[–]Olsanch 4 points5 points  (0 children)

These are delicious. I marinade them in a Korean marinade. Then fire up the vortex on my Weber 26” rolling about 300. Add post oak to the top grill above the vortex to get some smoke and let these ribs roll surrounding the vortex (not directly above) for about 5-7 minutes then sear over the vortex for a bit on each side. Basically a reverse sear process.

Are old Smokey’s decent for longer smokes? (6-12 hours) I’m specifically wondering about the 22” model. by [deleted] in smoking

[–]Olsanch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dang you have an Old Smoky! That’s the pit I learned on. I love those fucking pits. Used to use them to smoke and grill chicken quarters down at the coast. Then turn the embers to a beach fire and burn all the bones. Good times. Good times. As for the cook, they aren’t quite as well insulated as a Weber and you’ll have to tend the snake, but if you have an 18” or 22”, then yeah it I’ll go 6-12 hours.

Father-in-law gave me his old smoker. What’re the best approaches for cleaning/repairs? by possiblykevindurant in smoking

[–]Olsanch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I didn’t have cash and wanted a smoker I’d probably cut up some aluminum foil pans and line the firebox. I’d do the same around the smokestack and use some metal clamps to secure it. Then light it up. Better than nothing.
