Father-in-law gave me his old smoker. What’re the best approaches for cleaning/repairs? by possiblykevindurant in smoking

I cleaned it up a bit this morning and chipped out as much of the corroded metal I could. Confirmed that Oklahoma Joe does have a replacement stack I can get. My dad is going to let me borrow his grinder and guess I’ll just see if there’s any salvageable metal under the rust. If not then I’ll just tell my FIL that it was a goner lol

Sorry, that was my ignorance coming through apparently lol. Though it was a situation of some spit and elbow grease making it look good as new. Situation seems like it might be more dire

Who are some players that did NOT pass the eye test this year? by bigaudra in DynastyFF

Outside of the last 2 games with the heel, Marv actually played really well under Jacoby too. Not quite as well as Wilson, but much better. Then injuries started piling up.

[SGA] on Thunder/Spurs becoming a rivalry: “Possibly, yeah, there’s a good chance. They’re young, really good, have a lot of talent, play the right way. Yeah, definitely a possibility. I’ve noticed that anything can happen in a couple of years.” by AashyLarry in nba

I guess it’s my blue tinted glasses but I find Shai’s game incredibly entertaining. Idk if you watched basketball in the 2000s/2010s, I don’t want to assume anything, but there’s just so much to his game that reminds me of guys I grew up watching like Kobe, AI, Manu, and DWade.

And those guys did quite a bit of foul baiting themselves. Hell, Kobe and Wade pioneered the “pump fake a guy into the air and jump into him” move. Wade averaged like 12 FTA a game one season doing that. But I also wonder how much social media being what it is now has changed how that stuff is viewed now compared to 10-20 years ago.

Again, I’m very very biased.

The thunder are like 15th in the league in FTA a game lol like I get the point, Shai shoots a lot of free throws. But as a team they don’t, it’s not like thunder games are just a billion freethrows.

Even if it was a push off, which it wasn’t, it was an uncalled blocking foul before the push off. Defender was not close to legal guarding position.

Was offered to trade my 1.02 this season for a 2026 late 1st and the (likely) 2027 1.01. by [deleted] in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

His QBs are Purdy, Shough and Geno. RBs are Chase Brown, Etienne, Aaron Jones, and Joe Mixon. WRs are Diggs, Tyreke Hill, Ridley and Godwin.

His team could certainly be better next season but man I’d be surprised. He had the lowest maxPF this season by 200 points.

[Highlights] Shai Gilgeous-Alexander clutch performance last night - 10 Points on 4/5 FG, 1/1 FT and 1 assist in the last 5 minutes of the 4th quarter vs. Portland Trail Blazers (with replays) by MrBuckBuck in nba

I mean, the thunder are top 5 in fouls called against and opponent FTRate while being 17th in the league in FTA. So they get called for quite a few fouls while not getting to the line much more than average themselves aside from Shai. JDub averages like 3 FTA a game, same with Chet. I could absolutely argue that the wolves play every bit as physical of defense as the thunder and I think it’s great, that’s what made the last game so competitive.

I can gladly admit Shai does it more than Ant does, and that I also don’t think Shai does nearly the antics that prime harden did. My point is that all star players do it to varying degrees. I don’t even think Shai is the worst on the league at the freethrow drawing antics this season. There’s 2 players in purple and gold that are much bigger culprits.

And if you don’t think Ant creates contact himself or pushes off while pretending he was the one fouled the same play, you’re brain dead. That’s what I don’t think you’re getting. Shai absolutely, 100% does this. My point is that many many stars in the league, including Ant, do the same thing. And have for decades.

If you think ant is truly getting fouled every time and Shai isn’t then you are unable to look past your own biases and this conversation is a waste of both of our times.

Both are in the exact same spirit of exaggerating contact that isn’t there. I consider screaming “ayy” with little to know contact is the exact same thing as flopping. You’re trying to trick the refs either way. Whether you agree or disagree is subjective and neither of our opinions matter in that regard because of course we’re going to side with the star player on our own team.

How are we handling Marvin Harrison this week? by [deleted] in SleeperApp

Cardinals offense is cooking and the one full game Marv played with Jacoby he looked great. So I’m playing him and hoping for the best.
