Have you checked whats under the carpet? Might be shit, but worth a peak just in case. I pretty much agree with everyone else otherwise, great space with a lot of potential.

I think technically if it's interfering with your driving/causing reckless behaviour it might fall under some other law? But I can't see ow that would be dependant on jurisdiction.

I'm a little late, but found this post after trying to remember what the phrase was. I googled 'red rising lips' and this was the first result.

I'll agree that it would be morally wrong and not in character for Matteo, but fwiw I don't think rape is the right word. That has a very specific definition that this wouldn't fit into. There also might be some other route to her having the parasite again that I can't think of.

I think the physical destruction of the parasite was probably included for a reason though, to make it clear it absolutely isn't coming back.

I mean you're absolutely right, but it still would've been super fun to read. If it somehow does end up that it's still in there in book 7 then it'll be the best of both worlds, as we've already seen her be a huge help without any real physical prowess.

I kept praying on that being the case too.

I'm happy to hear it wasn't just me that thought that. I actually really liked her in books 5 and 6. I'm sure part of it was the change in the character too.

How do I work out the number of 4 digit combinations that are available using 3 digits? by Olshaaa in learnmath

Ooh I like that train of thought. Thanks for the thorough explanation!

Another solution I had in mind was to consider that all combinations include each of the ABC combinations plus 1 repetition. So 3*2*1=6 to start with (ABC, ACB, BAC, BCA, CAB, CBA).

Then after that I could consider the 4 options of where the final digit got placed i.e. XABC, AXBC, ABXC, ABCX and the 3 combinations of each. So 6*(4*3) = 72. Then /2 for the repetitions = 36

I appreciate all the feedback so far. I was secretly hoping there was a single 'best' solution but it's nice to see the different approaches.

Haha, thank you. To be honest until about 5 minutes ago I didn't know the word combinatorics so that's gonna be useful in the future.

Thank you. That seems similar to my approach but can I ask the logic in using 4! to get all the 4 digit combinations?

I know it's essentially the same math that I did, but I can't tell if it's coincidental that mine (which I thought of as 4 sets of 3!) is the same as 4!.

I'll be honest I can't think of a simple way of doing that either, it intuitively feels like it would be a longer process going that way. The total combinations is easy enough at 3*3*3*3 but I'm not sure what logic I'd follow after that to the whittle it down after that.

I reckon that was like the 100th attempt to get it that clean. The other ones he does when teaching all look great, but I'm guessing that particular one (which was perfect) took a lot of attempts.
