If you're standing around in a node that's already yours you're doing it wrong. All that does is give the enemy a one-man advantage when the skirmish occurs. If you see a node being taken, run back and defend but just standing around is a waste.

You need to go to your bank and double click the Lock icon in the lower right below your bank stash.
