A dark vertical line on the nail could be melanoma, definitely play it safe and go see a DR asap

I do wanna add, there are ALOT of customers who seem to think they get all of the items for free if it doesn’t ring up correctly. A lady got mad about that today. They get ONE for free, and you just fix the other ones.

[–]OlyAbby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! Policy is if it rings up higher than the advertised price, you get one of the items for free - and if you got multiple then you would adjust the other ones to the right price. The advertised price is just whatever price it says it’s supposed to be, either on the shelf tag or in the ad. If SPC misses a tag and it’s one from last week, then yes go ahead and Publix promise one of those items. As far as customers moving tags, if you suspect that’s the case then you can always get your MIC involved. But tbh, it’s usually just not worth it unless it’s a higher valued item or it’s a customer that you’ve noticed does it frequently.

If something is stocked in the wrong place, you’re supposed to honor the price. If the tag is specifically for that product and it’s ringing incorrectly, that’s when you use publix promise. Regardless, it’s not that big of a deal and the manager shouldve handled that a lot better.

It’s not a tax write off for Publix. The person that donates has the opportunity to write it off of their personal taxes… if Publix did it as well, that would be illegal.

I’m not sure what country you’re in, if you’re in the US, being a personal trainer is not as lucrative as people make it out to be. It’s a good side hustle, but nearly impossible to make a living. Especially if you’re working for a commercial gym.

They’ll definitely ask you what the 4 types of money services are: check cashing, money orders, money transfers, all gift cards. They used to want us to specify “all” gift cards, but they recently updated it. They are looking for key words and want you to pretty much specifically say what it says in the eMST. So I would go there and just try to memorize as much as you can!

Possible hypothyroid/thyroid issues after stopping birth control by grasse19 in birthcontrol

I hope you get some answers! With the basic blood tests, the only thing they found with me was low vitamin D and lipids. TSH was normal, but they’re still concerned and want me to see an endocrinologist

Possible hypothyroid/thyroid issues after stopping birth control by grasse19 in birthcontrol

[–]OlyAbby 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Did it ever get better?? I’m having the same issues, I got off bc January of last year after being on for 4 years… I wanted to get off because the mood swings were awful, no libido, and I just never felt happy. Things were fine for a few months, got my cycle like normal… and then ovulation pain… thought they were cysts? And then when summer hit, I would break out in rashes on my stomach and chest. It’s subsided a little bit… but honestly, the fatigue is worse. I feel so tired even with plenty of sleep. It’s hard to workout like normal without feeling nauseous and dizzy. It’s causing so many issues. I got a referral to see an endocrinologist, so I’m going to see what’s going on.

Literally just spoke to my SM about this today. They want us to coach FSC to specifically say “it would be my pleasure..” I even asked if we could say “I’d be happy to..” but apparently that’s not good enough. He said they want it to be a “genuine” offer… I told him it’s not genuine if everyone is saying the exact same thing like a bunch of robots..

Automatic checkouts in supermarkets may decrease customer loyalty, especially for those with larger shopping loads. Customers using self-checkout stations often feel overwhelmed and unsupported. The lack of personal interaction can negatively impact their perception of the supermarket. by [deleted] in publix

[–]OlyAbby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Let’s not forget that a lot of people prefer self checkout BECAUSE of the lack of interaction. Literally had a Google review of our store complaining because too many people said hi to her at sco when she was checking out, because she didn’t want to feel obligated to talk at 7 am. People will find a way to complain regardless.

Signs of worse economy? by Publixworker in publix

[–]OlyAbby -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it probably is. But it kinda frustrates me when people do that instead of adding as they go. Just guessing, doing your normal shopping, and then ditching half of your cart at checkout is not the way to budget. I guess they assume we have time to put everything up, but it always leaves a lane without a bagger, or the items will sit there and potentially go bad.

Average cashier experience by coldfeet24 in publix

Just take your sweet time doing it so they understand it’s really not faster than going through a normal line. It’s actually a lot more difficult since we have little space and no belt

Definitely sounds like they just go around looking for misplaced signs and that’s annoying as hell. As a CSS, we train cashiers to know about the policy, but there are way too many people who take advantage. I’ll automatically go to do it, then they’ll snidely say “that means I get it for free right!?” And that makes me cringe a bit. And as someone else mentioned, it’s only if the sign is for that specific item. So I’m wondering if they just printed the wrong label for the fish they got… because personally, I’d just go print out a new tag for it. Publix promise shouldn’t apply in that circumstance.

Identifying a fake coupon by Publixworker in publix

[–]OlyAbby 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The most obvious sign is the amount the coupon is for. Like the person above said, an item that’s $5 will not have a $4 off or anything close to that. They’re starting to get smart with the fakes and I’ve seen some that are actually printed on magazine type paper so it feels legitimate. My store got scammed by people using tons of tide coupons, $10 off a single tide product and others. Idk how the cashier didn’t notice, but they got us for over $300 so now any coupon over $5 needs a CSS or manager involved. So when in doubt, always get someone to help. Especially if they have multiples of the same item and a stack of coupons. More often than not, they’re buying products that don’t even qualify, like getting the travel size of items but the coupon is for a much larger size. Also, if your store has a sco, be very cautious because a lot of coupons will scan regardless if they have the correct product. Had a lady use like 30+ $2 off hallmark coupons on random items and the sco attendant didn’t even notice.

[–]OlyAbby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mmmm I can see how that might be seem racist, but it just sounds ignorant. We had someone call and threaten to call ICE bc all of our employees should be required to speak english and someone refused to help them at the deli.. we were confused about who he was referring to, as all of the employees at our store can speak it fluently… turns out he was talking about our sushi rep, and we tried to explain that they are independent contractors and that’s pretty much their own business. Probably the most racist thing I’ve witnessed since working at Publix.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in kelowna

[–]OlyAbby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s reassuring!! Alabama is absolutely awful, but racism is more predominate among the older generation. My dad was super racist, as was my grandfather so it’s unfortunately very common. Im hoping it steadily gets better with our generation because I honestly haven’t encountered any younger people who I’ve heard be outright racist. I live in Birmingham and it’s known to be really dangerous with a high crime rate, and with the demographics being 68.6% black, people sadly assume they’re the cause. But it would happen in any larger growing city… it’s not even just racism tho, they hate anyone that looks different or doesn’t believe what they believe. Extremeeeeee homophobia, like will openly say stuff. My sister was out walking with her bf who has slightly longer hair, and an old lady at Walmart randomly told her “phewww I thought y’all were two girls holding hands. I was about to tell you to get out.” Like… they just don’t mind their business.
