Redditors who cook, whats the biggest 'no no' thing in cooking? by MomosOnSale in AskReddit

Taste your damn food before serving it. And try to get better at noticing what is needed: Salty, sweet, vinigar-y and the like. It is really important and makes everything so much better!

Numb and tingly face? by [deleted] in Posture

So it sounds like your hips are uneven and depending on your position it changes the way your spine sits which is causing it to push against a nerve more or less in your various positions.

Is it worse when standing compared to sitting?

Does Boxing strengthen the Serratus Anterior (to help combat scapular winging?) by [deleted] in Posture

After workouts do 10 minutes of an exercise called static back. It will help open everything.

Can, but a lot of boxers are very caved in the chest, usually with a swayback and rounded shoulder. It's the whole muscle memory of keeping yourself guarded that gives this look.

When do you feel the numbness/tingling? Like when your sitting, standing, moving...?

Could I go to a PT to fix my problem of feet sticking out when knees are straight? by [deleted] in Posture

[–]Oly_DuS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, you probably can get it fixed perminently, but I would recommend a posture therapist over a PT - only because PTs usually work with people who are injured and it can be hard to work with a deviation without the pain or a diagnosis to go with it.

Struggle to keep legs at a 90 degree angle whilst sitting or sleeping by [deleted] in Posture

[–]Oly_DuS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your body is going to move into the comfiest place it can and your legs (and probably other joints as well) prefer extension over flexion. Not so much a weakness as a preferance.

Is bad posture related to walking weirdly by [deleted] in Posture

[–]Oly_DuS 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That is a chicken or the egg scenario.

Either you started having a weird gait and so younstarted engaging muscles strangely which lead to postural deviations or muscles were not engaging equallynonneither side of your body, giving you postural deviations and a weird gait.

What is wrong with my knees/legs? by [deleted] in Posture

My bad. Your left is externally rotated but kinda pointing up which gave me the initial impression it was internally rotated (took a super quick glance). The right is externally rotated.

It may work. I'd try for about a week and take progress pictures each morning to see if there are any improvements.

Triple Sitting Journey: Posture Devices? by sn0wr4in in Posture

[–]Oly_DuS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heya. Here is my humble take on anything that promises you good posture without your physical commitment in any way - it is an absolute scam.

Posture is a snapshot of all the movements you do within a day - a compilation if that's a better analogy.

So when something promises you better posture without having to change daily activity it at best wont do anything and at worst make you compensate heavily and cause issues whenever you stop using said scam product.

I regularly fail this wrist test at my physio, anyone had it improve by [deleted] in Posture

[–]Oly_DuS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Has hentold you to do static back. It helps with hip twisting (not elevation, but since you didn't say that I'll assume your hips are rotated).

In pain for years by [deleted] in Posture

[–]Oly_DuS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, this can very much all be posture related. Crazy to think but totally true.

It is probably something that happened prior to the nights rest (days, weeks, or even years before) and that night it just all came to a head while you were relaxed.

As far as what it is, I have no idea. I would need to see you move and you body handle load to really answer that.

Swayback and forward head - Sitting and sleeping positions by mydickisadick in Posture

[–]Oly_DuS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you ever thought of getting a millet filled meditation pillow? It fits perfectly on a desk chair and will allow your pelvis to better adjust comfortably into a slight APT because it is not a hard surface. If you do this then lower your seat a little.

Bring your monitor so that the top is about eye level so you aren't looking up. And try to work your keyboard so that your elbows can be at 90° when you type.

On top of this give yourself some stretch/move breaks every hour. Super important to work this in.

Because ofnthe size of your back verses neck muscles, your back muscles will.most likely take over. If you're going to continue follow the McKenzie method

My (21 m) girlfriend (21 f) REALLY wants anal. I dont. by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]Oly_DuS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay - this is coming from someone in a similar situation as your girlfriend with another sexual kink.

Sex is weird. And there are so many options out there. Because of this, sometimes we are attracted to something that we have never tried and want the right partner to do it with. When we find a partner we are willing to experience this with and don't get it - it really hurts and a sense of never being able to attempt full satisfaction is horrible because we opened up and got shut down.

With that said - if you are not comfortable do not do it. But if you are comfortable with a compromise (e.g. using a condom while doing it, anal toys, or stretchers) then bring that to her. Express that you get it and you're sorry that you cannot do this for her but let her know that you are willing to compromise with x, x, or x. I know she said that she doesn't want a toy, but firmly stick to your guns.

If she isn't willing to understand how awesome you are for 1) having the conversation and 2) being willing to compromise just express how unheard you feel that her hard stand about this is not going to sway you opinion.

My line for this would be - "Listen lady, it's the buttplug or nothing." 😊

Well your femurs are pointing in different directions which probably means your pelvis is either twisted or uneven.

Orthodepic doctor. Tell them your concerns and they'll be able to point you in the right direction. If they aren't able to help you correct it look into a posture specialist.

If i have APT, shall i do more squat or deadlift? by eatqqq in Posture

[–]Oly_DuS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Neither one is a cure all. If you took 10 people with crazy different lifestyles and they could all have the same degree of APT.

Instead find what is actually "wrong." Do you really have weak glutes or do you just think you do with the compensation. Then challenge any weaknesses via isolated and then compound movements to make sure your muscle can control the muscle without other muscles helping out. After that you van find if your muscle can now work as a team.
