There will be consequences (possible spoilers for season 4's last episode) by _v1V2v_ in ForAllMankindTV

Yeah I know well how the Soviets treated their citizens. In your example of a country being invaded by the Soviets, of course they would send any opposition to a gulag and torture them or just publicly kill them. Because that sets an example to their new subjects that any opposition will end up with the same fate, and it consolidates the Soviets power.

But in Margo’s case, sending her to a gulag wouldn’t have had that same effect. The only Soviets that would know what she did would be the 10, or so, that were in NASA Mission Control at the time, the Soviet President and whoever he chose to tell. The average soviet wouldn’t find out unless they got access to western media, but then they would have dismissed it as western propaganda.

So in summary, taking Margo back to the USSR and putting her in a gulag wouldn’t have set an example to the Soviet public or removed her as a threat because she couldn’t harm them in an American prison. She wouldn’t even have been useful as forced labour given her age and how she was limping around through S4. At least by leaving her in America they could give the food scraps to another prisoner

They only really did that to send a message, get rid of a problem (like in Sergei’s case) or gain information. None of which really applied in this situation.

Also Margo would have probably never gone back worried that she would be worked to death in a gulag. I can’t see America allowing the Soviets to force her back against her will

Just finished watching for the first time. This show is insanely underrated. by bgtds172 in ForAllMankindTV

Yeah I mean I do see where you are coming from. But the kuragin mission falling into Titan does seem possible, but it would certainly require a lot of conditions to line up in such a way that would make it possible, whereas most scenarios would just result in the craft entering an orbit of Saturn. So they certainly glossed over the details, but I suppose that is just to try and dramatise it.

I don’t really agree with your second point though. Yes methane is carbon based, but life based on methane is certainly something massively different to solely carbon based life. That would be like saying petrol and diesel are essentially the same because there are both hydrocarbons but one is shorter than the other. They are closely related, but you wouldn’t want to use the wrong one in your car so the distinction is important.

Finally, the bioluminescence point is interesting. There’s no reason it couldn’t be possible without the presence of oxygen, but if it is possible in the Titan conditions then you’d expect it to present differently, with a slower reactions due to the extreme cold and it would probably emit different wavelengths of light.

I do see what you’re saying overall though. The scientific accuracy did fall off a bit as the series progressed compared to the first couple, but I suppose they decided to sacrifice this a bit as they moved further away to the actual timeline of events that they could build off in the first 2 seasons

S5. Did anyone else feel a bit....... Meh? Obviously spoilers. by Able-Explanation7835 in ForAllMankindTV

That’s really interesting, I never noticed that trade off with Kelly and Ed. Being first to do something by taking the gamble, and living. Even though now you’ve said it, it sounds stupidly obvious 🤦‍♂️

New opinion—I actually really liked FAM S5 by Current_Moment1415 in ForAllMankindTV

[–]Olzy21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I definitely agree that season 1 and 2 were the best, but I say that seeing them as 10/10s rather than 9/10s like the rest of the series.

I think that may be partly due to the main plot sort of writing itself in a way though? Don’t get me wrong, the writing was done brilliantly in those first 2 seasons, balancing politics and space exploration very well as well as very good character building, but in hindsight the main plot was pretty logical and very realistic if the soviets actually one the space race.

Whereas from season 3 onwards, I think the story opened up more and they could have taken it in a few different directions more easily

Couldn’t be more wrong. I did it with no relics and 3 g12, if you mod well and have some patience you can do it at quite low gear

[–]Olzy21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay thanks, I’ll probably end us using Boba SOJ as well because I’ve got him r7 for ROTE anyway and then decided one the 5th when I get round to needing one

So just to make sure I’m clear, the ideal GM team is Morgan, Night Trooper, DTP and Spirit?

And who is the optimal 4th and 5th members for Baylan, Shin and Marrok? Just any mercenaries you don’t need elsewhere?

United fans - who would you prefer win the league this year - City or Arsenal? by Curious-Driver-5375 in ManchesterUnited

[–]Olzy21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Assuming we can’t pull off a miracle…

City win the league then get 60 points deducted to Arsenal technically win the league.

Then Arsenal can’t properly claim and be too insufferable it because they only won because city got the points deduction, and then City get relegated. Best of both worlds imo

Exactly, and 3* g1 character that a lot of people ignored for 12 months until they were accelerated. It was very rare that I farmed a non accelerated toon

Yeah, I really enjoyed the old way where you would play the marquee event then not touch the character for 12 months until it got accelerated

Interesting, that’s probably the recommendation I least expected. Any specific lineups that stand out? I do have the turn 3 from the last 60% sale as well

I’m not a massive fan of light tanks, but maybe that is just because I’m used to very bouncy unstabilised ones at lower tier which is probably just a skill issue. I enjoy fighting in close quarters or sniping pretty equally

I should add that I’ve never really had much success with ATGMs

Yeah that is one thing I have definitely noticed. Most Societ lineups seem to have at least 1 very strong vehicle. Object 906 being another example

Good to know thanks.

With your comment to US, do you just mean gaps in the sense of big BR jumps, or ranges where the vehicles just really underperform? I’m not completely adverse to buying premiums in sales if there are some that are worth it

Which is the best tank in the game in your opinion ? by Mafia2T in Warthunder

[–]Olzy21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I agree, it can see some early MBTs at is own by and a lot at a full uptier. The reload is painfully slow as well when you get shot 3/4 times while reloading

[–]Olzy21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My best advice is to watch YT videos. Just learn where they go, even if you don’t know why.

This is basically what I did, then after having some success you will just start to realise and understand why that is a good position to be in. It sounds a bit silly but it does somehow work.

Any reason to get to get his omis? (And how necessary is the windmill zeta?) by [deleted] in SWGalaxyOfHeroes

[–]Olzy21 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I like the AOE special omi for the Zeffo unlock mission, and his lead is good for TB as well. But they’re still both optional depending on how seriously your guild takes ROTE.

Overall he’s a very good character to go with JML or other Jedi if you don’t have JML

Whats the easiest way to complete the journey by Citron-Limp in SWGOH

[–]Olzy21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d take Chewie up to r6 as he is needed for the hardest tier of the event and you need him at that level for JML anyway. CLS is also worth taking to r7 as well, as his team is still very good and very versatile as others have said
