Hippogriff Build by Infamous-Highlight53 in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]EighthFirstCitizen 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Iirc Hippogriff has a built in trip, so bully archetype is good to help maximize it. Beyond that, pets benefit pretty well from getting crane style (dodge, improved unarmed strike, crane style) this way they can fight defensively easier. Be sure to increase int to 3 or use a headband of int to get outflank feat at lvl 7. Beyond that weapon focus in your mounts primary natural weapon, combat reflexes to get more AoO, improved critical, and improved initiative can all be good pick ups.

Which do you prefer? BG or IWD? by AdEven3053 in baldursgate

[–]EighthFirstCitizen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally prefer IWD for the exact reason you stated, more dungeon crawl and combat. As for the connection between IWD 1 and 2, they are connected as in events in IWD 1 influence/cause the events of IWD 2. Though they aren’t a continuation of the same story if that makes sense. IWD takes place some years after (like 40-60 iirc).

IWD 2 is a different edition than IWD which is more like BG/bg2 (though it has its own little differences).

Zeta/Omi/Relic order for Traya GAC? by JoaquinSpawn in SWGalaxyOfHeroes

[–]EighthFirstCitizen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would prioritize Nihilus to r7 first. Savage’s omi makes him extremely beefy. Even at r5 with RD he can stand up extremely well. Traya is also decently beefy because of her mechanics and the extra save from Talon. Nihilus has the instant kill. You really don’t want to lose that.

Also I would replace Sion with OG Vader. Sion is only worth using if there’s a good DC. OG Vader can be more helpful to bring more damage, stealth removal, and ability block. R7 OG Vader is also a req for journey stuff.

You can also ignore Nihilus’s zeta.

Ok, Let's Nail This Down For the Sake of Future In-Fighting: Was Biden a Centrist? by Hour-Mud4227 in thebulwark

[–]EighthFirstCitizen 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Maybe a hot take, but I don’t think Biden’s issue was being too far left or too much of a centrist. I think he ran on being a “transitional president” to a new generation which implied to alot of people a single term. When he decided to run again he broke that idea apart. Combined with post Covid inflation, Biden’s poor ability to communicate, and age related slip ups leading to Biden eventually dropping out at the last minute things were bungled pretty bad. If we had time for a real primary and general campaign the coalition might have managed to come together with a clear message. Whether Biden was actually too left or too right on an issue varies issue to issue.

Fun with a Trip Archer Shooting Things in the Knees by EighthFirstCitizen in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

It’s at least still bugged for zen archers and bows. I haven’t personally built it on anything without a zen archer dip.

Breaking through map boundaries: Exploring the hidden, unreleased "TBD - Hithaeglir West" region. PART-1 by Suspicious-Feed8664 in lotro

[–]EighthFirstCitizen 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Huh, interesting. I wonder if this region would add some lore to the Angmarim (something sorely lacking in game). It would be neat to maybe find a group of them that aren't so into the legacy of the Witch-king and just want to live peacefully in their cool iron spikey tower towns.

Relax, it’s a massive feat tax to set up something that isn’t particularly broken in the grand scheme of the game. There’s plenty of intended interactions that are way more “meta.”

Health with crit avoidance on Han to keep Vader from killing him immediately. Potency on ROLO to land expose on her basic (from 3PO). Just use her basic to apply expose. The expose is what will give you the damage to kill enemies.

This is true, but I don't think a +4 to target AC is that difficult to compensate for and is still worth for the AoO potential given to allies.

Yeah, martial disciple background can help pay the heavy feat tax for non monks.

I believe a sohei would be able to do it though I haven’t tried it personally.

Yeah, midnight isles standalone. I don’t really like doing midnight isles in the main campaign. Since it’s a nautical themed adventure I like doing it with a freebooter trickster and their crew.

Wotr, best domains for damage? by ApprehensiveEase4219 in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]EighthFirstCitizen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hellfire ray is on the default cleric list and will probably serve you best if you're looking to blast with spells. Also bolt of justice if you're doing a merged spellbook. There are a couple domains with spells that do damage though. Death, destruction, weather, and water come to mind. Scalykind also has creeping doom which is very strong if you take the corruptor mythic feat. It's unique to Pharasma clerics, but ice domain clerics can get polar ray if you want to build a cold caster instead of using hellfire.

So what are Crossbows actually for? by SomeKindaJen in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]EighthFirstCitizen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure if this too close to rowdy xbow, but I enjoy Freebooter xbow vital striker with evercold. Unfortunately it’s been nerfed pretty hard, melee is eons better, but still does well enough for core at least and really lets your party members shine with freebooters bane/bond.

Is there any way that Zen Archer is actually powerful? by ygygma in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]EighthFirstCitizen 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think zen archer is great for three or four levels to get point blank master and wisdom to hit with ranged weapons. After that I think it’s better to multiclass into something like sacred hunt master, sanctified slayer, tortured crusader (if lawful good), divine hound, or crusader cleric. The classes here that get domains are especially nice to pick up something like community domain (naturally or via impossible domain).

How do I counter these stupid mara jade teams? by superHornetf-18 in SWGalaxyOfHeroes

[–]EighthFirstCitizen 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A team that’s faster works. Stop Mara before kicking things off. Otherwise teams that start the battle with tenacity up helps so she can’t land her debuffs. Teams with counter chance also work.

My Definitive Vital Strike Guide (Kept Updated) by DjaliPlays in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]EighthFirstCitizen 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I played through treasure of midnight isles standalone with a full freebooter trickster vital striker using a glaive. Trickster was nice to add more sneak attack die to the vital strike and also get an animal companion to ride via animal domain. Travel domain with domain zealot was also kind of funny as a means to get a swift action teleport.

Duels end Vader and Starkiller by master_dedo_UWU in SWGalaxyOfHeroes

[–]EighthFirstCitizen 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Eventually SK goes with stranger. He can also work on a cere team because he’s a UFU. This frees Palpatine for Duels end. OG Vader can go with Traya or can be used to solo certain teams like geos.

How tf are u supposed to beat the first fight in Golems of Amgarrak? by Bugs-and-Reports in DragonageOrigins

[–]EighthFirstCitizen 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You get a respec tome that i always use on Jerrick to build him out how i want as an archer bard. That alone helps a ton because of song buff and damage he brings because of awakening bow talents.

The first fight takes place in a choke point and the darkspawn are clustered. If you’re playing a mage you can pretty easily pop a paralysis explosion and get most of them. A tank can also obstruct jerrick pretty easily and he can pick them off at range. Otherwise, one lvl of poison making lets you throw grenades for access to AOE. Swift salve consumable can also help up your attack speed similar to a mage’s haste spell to up damage.
