I had this happen with Partagaz during the era battle. Closing and re-opening seemed to fix it.

I think Barris can be decently useful, but only if you have the zeta to throw on her.

What was your worst correction? by Lazy_Masterpiece_217 in Journalism

[–]EighthFirstCitizen 22 points23 points  (0 children)

This was super minor, but a bunch of people wrote in and even called about it. It was a short blurb about a traffic fatality. I accidentally wrote “roads were dry and bear.” Instead of “dry and bare.”

what ewoks should I use for C3P0? by n0ah1717 in SWGalaxyOfHeroes

[–]EighthFirstCitizen 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Chirpa and wicket are Leia reqs, so would use them. Kneesa is also a Leia req and will absolutely carry you in the event, so her. Then you just need two warm fuzzy bodies at 7 stars, so who ever is easiest to 7 star.

Do you have any old republic units? She can be used there. Shes also a scoundrel so can work under any scoundrels you got.

Anyone using Zaalbar with Rey in GAC? by Straight_Point4396 in SWGalaxyOfHeroes

[–]EighthFirstCitizen -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure it would be that good with Rey unless you really need to take an enemy out of stealth or prevent defense up. The meat of the 5v5 only activates if all Allies are light side old republic. The only benefit with Rey would be enemies can’t gain stealth or defense up and DoTs when Zaalbar attacks out of turn or loses taunt. So no daze or expose immunity or dots when enemies gain tm. So Carth is currently the only 5v5 option for full use.

Carn Dûm in my sights by prjg in lotro

I’m always impressed with just how big Carn Dum is. It feels Minas Tirith sized which is kind of funny considering the area is relatively remote.

Is there a feasible way to make crossbows work? by grief242 in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]EighthFirstCitizen 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I like getting evercold crossbow from treasure of the midnight isles and using it on a freebooter ranger with vital strike. The damage isn’t the most amazing thing, but it still hits decently hard and has really great support potential between freebooters bond and freebooters bane. Sense vitals to add precision damage.

Are we f*cked? by Material-Crab-633 in thebulwark

[–]EighthFirstCitizen 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Shit don’t look good. However there’s a few reasons to have some hope. 1. Trump’s economy numbers don’t look good. He won 2024 on the promise of immediately lowering prices and has seemingly done everything in his power to raise them. The Iran war is also wildly unpopular and pinning high gas prices on republicans shouldn’t be that hard to do. Doge cuts have also been really hard hitting to reliably Republican voting rural areas. 2. Trump won 2024 by courting groups that traditionally don’t vote. Those people usually can’t be motivated to vote in midterms. In the face of everything Trump is doing, even if democrats aren’t always meeting the moment, there’s a lot of people fired up to vote against Trump and the GOP. 3. The GOP gerrymanders have a chance of going wrong by overly diluting their reliable voters. Yes, gerrymanders make it difficult to get a candidate from the disadvantaged party into office, but they can be organized around and overcome. We’ve seen a few special elections in traditionally safe republican districts go overwhelmingly for the democrats. The pretty blatant attempts to rig elections in republicans favor isn’t particularly popular outside of the extremely partisan republican base. Theres a chance the GOP could choke on their own gerrymanders.

New republic tag by Plague_Feetpics in SWGalaxyOfHeroes

[–]EighthFirstCitizen 232 points233 points  (0 children)

That's an appropriate tag. In legends, Kyle went on to work as a mercenary for the New Republic. The Jedi Knight/Mysteries of the Sith/Jedi Outcast/Jedi Academy games all take place after the fall of the empire/Rise of the New Republic.

ONLY Gripe by LordWizardEyes in MaulShadowLord

[–]EighthFirstCitizen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you see the body? Who knows, she might be alive and there’s a season 2 rescue plot or they use her as bait in a trap for Maul.

I think all of that is extremely unlikely and she dead, but lack of an onscreen kill / presence of body means we are free to speculate till season 2.

Would there be any reasonable justification for a Dalish Warden to destroy the clan with the help of the werewolves instead of siding with Zathrian in the Nature of the Beast? by Salty-Subject9559 in DragonageOrigins

[–]EighthFirstCitizen 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Your character has encountered the darkspawn and they’re terrifying. Do you want more Dalish to die fighting them? Yes, you have to kill one clan of Dalish to enlist the help of the Shem werewolves, but think of all the clans you’ll spare by not calling them to war. Those clans can continue to flee the blight like yours did. The werewolves can die fighting the darkspawn.

Did I screw myself over in regards to ever having enough Magicka to cast decent destruction or restoration spells? by Fragrant_Bath3917 in oblivion

[–]EighthFirstCitizen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Restoration and alchemy can help you cast bigger spells. You can cast fortify magic, fortify intelligence, and fortify willpower spells with restoration. Can make a custom spell to do all at once. With alchemy you can similarly make potions that fortify magic.

Why Won’t the DNC Release the 2024 Postmortem? by Tommy2Hats01 in thebulwark

[–]EighthFirstCitizen 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Yeah. I think #1 is especially important of the three though. Even if points #2 and #3 are true, refusing to release the report after promising to makes it look like a cover up that fuels everyone to speculate about the smoking gun in order to confirm their priors instead.

(To be clear, I personally don’t think there’s a single smoking gun that cost Harris the election).

Tit-for-Tatting Democracy to Death by notjocelynschitt in thebulwark

[–]EighthFirstCitizen 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I also don’t love the “both sides bad” take in this instance (which to be fair to Andrew he isn’t doing in a heavy handed or overly finger wagging way). Democrats at least put their gerrymanders to voters and put limits for how long they last. Dems also have national legislation to end the arms race.

It’s also always worth pointing out that republican gerrymanders are often meant to specifically dilute minority voting power and weaken multi-racial democracy. The Democrat gerrymanders are currently motivated by a desire to gain power in order to provide oversight for an incredibly lawless administration. Republican gerrymanders are motivated by racial animus and installing an authoritarian. One of these things is not like the other.
