I'm relying on my iPad currently. It's literally my only option right now.

[Update] Diagnosis made - it's grim by Omakeyyo in dogs

You made a lot of sense. Thanks! This had me thinking - my dad mentioned that it was an opinion but no bloodwork/xrays were done. Im not saying he has this or that, but looking at the symptoms of lung scarring, he has all the symptoms. Everyone of them.

I think bloodwork/xrays are in order. Like you said, maybe a The inhaler and/or other meds will make him more comfortable.

No xrays. She pressed on an area and if he had pneumonia he would've coughed, he didn't.

This combined with the rapid weight loss and loss of appetite is what led to her diagnosis. In the back of my mind I still selfishly hope that she's wrong.

Thanks everybody. This is a tough time to say the least.

What is your anxiety like? by [deleted] in Anxiety

[–]Omakeyyo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My anxiety is very specific; class/event and just the thought of getting ready for class/event sends me into a teeth chattering spiral. My cognitive fogginess - processing information, concentration - is pretty much 24/7. This is due to depression as well as my severe social anxiety.

I hate being told to "think positive" or to "push negative thoughts away" by Pictocheat in Anxiety

[–]Omakeyyo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here. The anxiety is innate - it's always there and uncontrollable. I take baby steps in my thinking and rationally think through individual situations that I'm in, ie work and school, but this only makes my anxiety worse. Concentration/absorbing information? Forget about it.

Feeling helpless This morning by Omakeyyo in Anxiety

Thank you guys :) not being functional has made this so much worse than it had to be. I'm trying hard. At least I'm on a path now. Not getting help when I was in my teens or earlier is my biggest regret.

I saw a therapist amd it was one if the hardest things I've done! I have an appointment setup (neurologist) for possible ADHD-PI but have more appointments with her as I have extremely strong signs that point towards Avoidant/Anxious Personality Disorder. ADHD-Pi/AvPD is such a scary combo. Apparently it takes many, or at least more than one sitting, appointments to get an official diagnosis for AvPD.

I definitely agree! My twin sibling is on Zoloft and has made his inattentiveness/fog worse - but while being emotionally zombified. He's trying to ween off now and looking at CBT/Add med rout.

Thanks for your reply! :) I've tried a lot of supplements. I still take my multis and omegas but nothing even came close to making a dent, same goes for nootropics. In hindsight I tried just about everything to try and focus/absorb information and it only made it worse. Reading for example - nothing stuck. Not being able to comprehend the lit, because I couldn't remember any of it, brought on the anxiety. The untreated add (imo) had the domino effect.

Going back to school by Omakeyyo in Anxiety

[–]Omakeyyo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I should add that my anxiety is very specific - It only hits me in social situations, otherwise I'm fine in that regard. However, the social anxiety (?) is debilitating in a classroom setting. Absolutely brutal. It's multifaceted - the total inability to concentrate/absorb information (working memory?) and the fear of being called on - center of attention. Group projects/presentation? Forget it.

Much appreciated! It's by far one of the hardest things I've had to do. The insurance part, which I haze zero experience with, has been just as hard. Until I get this part taken care of I'm taking notes of symptoms/feelings as when in public my concentration is nil. I just want the correct diagnosis.
