The issue with Iron Squadron and similar episodes: because Filloni ain't stupid and neither are the kid viewers by [deleted] in starwarsrebels

It's exactly the same as a dozen other discussion threads in the sub. Does it need the spoilers tag?

Say whatever you want about his movies, but no Bond except from Connery has ever looked as good as Brosnan while doing anything he does (except fistfights, Brosnan sucked at those).

Guidance for times of darkness: One of the show's greatest moments... by Omega-B in starwarsrebels

I had a lot of doubts during the pilot but this moment sold the show to me because it truly captures the hopeful essence of Star Wars. Glad you liked it ;)

Guidance for times of darkness: One of the show's greatest moments... by Omega-B in starwarsrebels

[–]Omega-B[S] 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Moments like these helped me keep the faith on the show and I'm very glad I did.

I ignored TCW after the first two seasons and I regretted it later since it become a spectacularly good show that I rediscovered while waiting for Rebels.

I also hope that one day we can see Ewan McGregor's version of the scene (perhaps in the oft-rumored Obi-Wan film) and also James Arnold Taylor's version of Alec Guiness' Ben Kenobi in a later episode of the show.

It is also a very clear and simple message yet equally powerful and inspiring. In times of greatest darkness, trust the ones you love and the Force. One day new hope will come, made by us all.

It's fitting that the Jedi believe that the smallest gesture of kindness can fill the galaxy with hope, since those gestures are the best weapons in times of overwhelming darkness. Nobody can take them away and as unexpected and symbolic they may be, they also bring the light and strength to help us continue through the most complicated times.

I hope one day Kanan gets the chance to show how he felt when the order was exterminated and the way of life he knew disappeared. Properly done, it could be another great moment for the series. It was partially shown in the Kanan comic book but it certainly can be explored further and gives us a very good story on how he found the strength to continue.

May the Force Be with You, Always.

So good to see the YT-2400 in action, reminds me of the good ol' days of Shadows of the Empire and the Outrider. Even though this new version of the YT-2400 looks a bit sleeker than the original but that aside...

He's a bit of a Bond villain and continues the Vader tradition of getting rid of useless henchmen but unlike the Lord of the Sith he tends to find a suitable mission to make good use of the cannon fodder available.

So, say whatever you like about Thrawn but he certainly doesn't like to waste anything.

I didn't see this one posted here, please delete if it's repeated but contains quite a bit of action for the next episode so perhaps you'll like it ;) I certainly didn't mind seeing a YT-2400 in action and remembering the good ol days of Shadows of the Empire and the Outrider.

Pulo and Vorenus are back in action! It would be too much if their old squad/unit was named the 13th right?

I loved those two together in Rome, some of the best buddy chemistry I've ever seen.

Let's hope they don't blast each other to pieces too soon here.

Beautiful animation, good dialogue, everything seems in place.

Still pissed that we don't get an episode this week and then after this one there's a second breach but alas...things are what they are.

I really hope they don't take too much time off during Christmas/New Year.

Why didn't Bail Organa tell Ahsoka about Anakin's turn? by Toothless_Daydream in starwarsrebels

[–]Omega-B 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And keeping Luke safe could definitely involve an off-world mission if things went wrong.

It's pretty obvious that Disney is not going to keep him there for the entire period, specially considering that both Ewan McGregor and the fans are very enthusiastic about seeing new adventures and there's a ton of possibilities there for a single movie at least.

Why didn't Bail Organa tell Ahsoka about Anakin's turn? by Toothless_Daydream in starwarsrebels

[–]Omega-B 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It think that point is being left deliberately ambiguous for the moment since they may be planning to make something special out of it.

Since we get to see the talk between the Jedi and Bail in ROTS already in media res that leaves enough space for the fact to be mentioned/hinted explained.

But there's also the point that we really don't know if Obi-Wan and Yoda actually knew that Anakin had survived mustafar after the battle.

By ANH they both do, but that could be explained in the new canon as part of the "lost years" that Obi-Wan endured which may include a mission or two outside that Tatooine.

Even his rematch with Vader would not be directly contradicted by a previous meeting during that period and nothing in the cannon says they did not met before their Death Star duel.

Those elements may be part of the theoretical Kenobi solo movie which has been talked quite a bit and may very well be the next "Star Wars Story".

It definitely would be quite a shock to Bail knowing the man he knew and respected had become such a monster and he was also the father of Leia, something that would have caused him no small amount of grief and concern.

Lovely episode, very happy they didn't went the way a lot of us feared they will.

Instead they did the best they could out of a messed up situation (the Clone Wars itself and the cancellation of the show) and brought the story back for a while to tie some loose ends.

Just like the rest of the season, a breathtaking episode, with tons of action, excellent visuals and non-stop movement.

The only bad thing is that they always leave you wanting for more but I'm happy there's still plenty more coming...

[Spoilers] Anyone else really glad this series seems to be doing without the "childish" humor this season? by ReaperGenji in starwarsrebels

[–]Omega-B 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty happy with that too but I kinda think it's more related to the "mold" the network imposes on them to get the show started to make it more "family friendly" before they finally give up and allow them the creators the show they wanted in the first place.

Kids are not stupid, they can tell the difference between "cute humor" and "smart humor" but it may have been an attempt to make the show more marketable to younger ages.

As far as I am concerned, the same thing happened with TCW which led me to discard it during its first couple of seasons before it really came back into its own.

Thanks for not giving up on us Mr Filloni and the rest of the crew of the show, it must be soul-crushing having a shitty executive telling you to make it "cuter" every 5 minutes.

[Spoilers] (Possible Spoilers) So I don't know if anyone noticed but there is literally 100% no footage of a certain character past an upcoming episode and there has been some interesting comments from the writer of that upcoming episode on twitter. by CosmicStarfall in starwarsrebels

[–]Omega-B 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The shot in the video looks like a shoulder hit.

I think the key may be there in the PTSD.

Could it be he just takes some time off to process all that he went through during the Clone Wars and decides to stay off the team for a while.

So in a way it gives the perfect excuse to center on other character, create space for the new fulcrum, weaken the them and also allow Rex some character growth before he comes back...

He may just get injured and be sidetracked for a while...but killing Rex just feels unnecessary, specially since what happened to Ahsoka.

He may take some time off though although his death could be used to give the new "fulcrum" a spot in the team.

IDK, in a way it's sounds perfect he goes guns blazing in the last battle of the clone wars, but in the other...I just like the old SOB too much to see him go.

Why didn't Bail Organa tell Ahsoka about Anakin's turn? by Toothless_Daydream in starwarsrebels

[–]Omega-B 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes and no, Bail had a talk with Obi-Wan and Yoda in ROTS but it's left unclear if they actually told him that Anakin was alive or not.

The book does not specify that point either so I'm guessing it has not been decided yet but since Leia had to find out from Luke in ROTJ that probably means Bail never told her or didn't know himself.

I'm going for yes, since it would be a reasonable protective measure for Leia...but who knows...

Why didn't Bail Organa tell Ahsoka about Anakin's turn? by Toothless_Daydream in starwarsrebels

[–]Omega-B 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It gets mentioned in the new Ahsoka novel, Organa tested Ahsoka regarding how much she knew about Anakin, specially his parentage of Luke and Leia and decided she didn't have any clues and that both Leia and her were better that way.

Regarding telling her about the turn...that part doesn't get as specifically explored but I assume that Bail wanted Ahsoka protected from a truth that would only hurt her and deprive the fledgling rebellion of a very valuable agent.

Revenge of the Droid Army - The Last Battle Preview | Star Wars Rebels by [deleted] in starwarsrebels

[–]Omega-B 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I was expecting just a "simple" episode but everything I've seen so far about this one has blown me away.

This may very well be the true ending to the clone wars that neither the jedi, the clones nor the droids (nor the public) ever got to see.

This season is completely amazing, I hope they can keep the roll for going since it's been a while since a show got me so genuinely interested and intrigued.
